If you're talking about recent delays being WoW-related, that's just individual speculation. Honestly though I wouldn't blame them for pulling SC2 staff to solve WoW emergencies.
I can't figure how extra staff from SC2 could bring a faster solution to Chinese WoW problems, but if they did I would fully expect those staff to get pulled. That's just smart business.

Thanks Tsagacity, but who is pardo?
I also do not see how pulling people from sc2 would help with wow. It is a classic mistake of managers who know little of computer science to think that throwing more code writers at a project will make it work better, I should think that blizzard has more class than making that kind of mistake. You don't get to have millions of monthly customers without good management.

im not up to speed on WoW what issues are they having in china? is it about the gold farmers?
|
Two Chinese government agencies are having a pissing match over which one of them gets to regulate MMORPGs, and WoW is caught in the crossfire.

I'm not sure how bad it is this time, but over the summer the government essentially shut down WoW in China for a while, which is like half the game's subscription base.

China STILL hasn't gotten WoTLK, WoW's most recent expansion. They're still playing on TBC content and Blizzard's already planning to release their next expansion. I feel bad for China, they've basically missed a whole expansion now. Not to mention the repercussions this had on WoW as an e-sport for them as no Chinese teams have been able to compete in anything due to all this as well.

Honestly, some one needs to tell china they should keep playing TBC.
WOTLK is just a casual EZ mode

Why hasn't China gotten wotlk? Has their government restricted the sale or something? And Honestly eMbrace is right in a way heh. Although Wrath has some very interesting story elements the gameplay and the raids are just so disappointing. They need to make the next raid a 40 man that is on the level of the old world raids and well designed. Let them make at least ONE new raid that casuals can't have access to.
|
Yep, completely agree with eMbrace. I unsubbed back in May because the PvP was just so terrible and that's all I really played the game in the first place. It just turned into such a no-skill, newbie zergfest. Going from S2/3/4 glad war to having my classes representation down to .5% in the top 200 was not fun. -_-

and then WOW users came out of the closet on SC forum :D
|
China has very strict rules on what people can see in games. i.e. no skeletons. wotlk never passed the approval process yet I don't believe. The game has to be heavily modified to fit china's strict censorship.

has to do with they way skeletons are viewed in china. I forgot what they symbolize there, but its a no go when it comes to video games. I think things cannot be showing flesh as well (zombies). Cant remember on that one though. There was a article showing images of the two games side by side.
