Whoever their lead art designer is just has bad taste, it's probably Samwise I would assume. No matter what the issue is that's causing the delay, I would guess that they are already working on the first expansion because it seems completely impossible that the art team and all the other teams would have something to work on still. Also, imo they should just skip beta and launch the game imbalanced. Maybe do a 2 week stress test for bnet 2.0 then launch.

The game is delayed theirfore the beta is'. I don't know why everyone is so supprised that the beta will start later to coincide with the games release. They shouldn't have needed to tell you the beta was also delayed with the whole game... It should have been obvious. They said they planned 4-6 months for beta and a 2010 beta will do just that.

Ah ok, so is this new beta delay announcement refering to the beta as a whole? Or that the Russians will get beta in 2010? Because North America and Australia are suppose to get beta first, and this quote did come out of a Q&A in Russia. I know i'm just trying to be optimistic.. but do you think (or is there anyone that is fluent enough to do their own translation) that they could have been refering to the start of the Russian beta not the entire beta process?

It sounds like everyone is delayed until 2010 unfortunately. If it was Russians only then the answer would have probably specified it abit further, but instead they simply said that the beta will be released in 2010, which would sound like it's the entire thing.

Those games are so much better and fun than this overhyped POS will ever be. Long live broodwar, sadly this game will never be as fun as broodwar. Obviously it must be economically for them to spend so much time on this game when you bet they will not only be drawing the $60 x 3 times from loving bw fans from this game it will also be reaching in your pocket at every corner of bnet 2.0. The long wait is probably just a time delay to let more people forget about BW and than when they release starcraft 2 everybody wants to go buy and play. Infinity ward was killed by activision and now its blizzard turn and I do blame all of this on greedy activision. But F them they are not getting a penny from me for this. [sarcasm] I love it how logical and well thought-out this post is. Let us review: 1. He states that two yet unreleased games are much better and fun then a third yet unreleased game. 2. He claims that SC2 is an "overhyped POS", even though Modern Warfare 2 is the game with the biggest marketing campaign in gaming history (cheap tricks, such as intentional controversy, included). 3. He states that a yet unreleased game will never be as fun as a game that has already existed for a decade. 4. He repeats the old "60$x3" rhetoric, even though expansion packs never cost as much as a regular retail copy. 5. He implies that delaying SC2 will make people forget about BW, even though it was the sequel`s announcement that has prompted people to take up BW again and that further delay of the sequel will just make more people attached to BW. Yes, this is one quality post... [/sarcasm]
