The problem is that the colossus needs to finish his attack animation before any damage is dealt - making "pickup, drop, pickup, drop" micro not really viable. It's also a damn expensive harass with 800mins, 400 gas and 200sec buildtime. You would need a lot of worker kills to make this worthwhile. Those two colossus are also not with your army, which means your army is very vulnerable. (And a lot of pushes come at that time, when the first colossuses appear). So you might be able to send your 3rd / 4th colossus for harass, but if you can survive that long you're more likely to say "4-5 colossus deathpush go!!".
Maybe in really long macro games it might be viable, but the chance that you wont have DTs/HTs in those as well is pretty slim. And both are superior harass units. Earlier I'd say Zealots are quite good, because they're very cheap and dont block your production for that long.
Not saying it wont happen, but I doubt it will become the norm.

trick is that the collosi damage dealing animation has changed. you need to let the collosi finish his entire long damage animation otherwise it does not do damage, this was changed back in beta i believe. after that collosi dropping fell out of grace, plus the collosi was a very essential unit to lose.
EDIT: Got beat to the punch i see, what the guy above me said! ^

white ra vs Sen game 3. got removed :S

I loved the comparison between spider mines and reavers
+ Show Spoiler +I'm sure lots of people have seen these already so I put the in video times that were relevant. Reaver/scarab stupidity @1:45 scarab ring around the rosy @2:18 Reaver: What range could I launch these things from again? Was it 1? @2:57 Reaver: Must attack scvs but can't move, this strange blue circle is in the way. Mine stupidity @:40 Mine: Must attack the dragoon but no there are probes in the way. Toooo cute lets look for another path. @1:52 Mine: I'm gonna get 'em, I'm gonna get 'em, that dark templar he's so dead.

Bwhahahhaa
Oh god. BWHAHAHAHAHAA Just saw the whole reaver rant and couldnt stop cracking up. ^ Great post
Suprised Day wasn't happier with the stupid Reavers. God the tension from watching a scarab chase 6 scvs half a mile then dud. This daily was one of the best fundays. :D

If it's a really long game, colossi drops might be good. One colossi with 3 attack upgrades oneshot probes and drones, but not scvs.

I liked the sc1 overlord impersonation(42:50) last night. Oh and let's not forget CHUI lmao.

I just have to say, Day[9]'s Funday Monday on Warp Prisms was the funniest episode I've ever seen.
I just had to create an account on Liquidpedia just to say that. =P
|
Regarding Day[9]'s penguin question:
Penguins actually try to keep their feet as cold as possible without letting them freeze. They use two mechanisms:
1) They can control blood vessel diameters in their feet to control blood flow
2) They have countercurrent heat exchangers in their legs. Artery and vein capillaries in the feet and legs are woven together, so heat from warm blood entering the legs transfers efficiently into the cool blood returning to the body. This keeps heat inside the well-insulated body and out of the poorly-insulated feet and keeps the penguin from unnecessarily wasting energy keeping the feet warm.
Penguins adjust blood vessel diameters to allow just enough heat to enter the feet to keep them slighly above freezing temperatures, conserving the rest of their energy to keep their bodies warm. This lets emporer penguins survive months without food in the dark Antarctic winter.

I looked through the last couple pages and couldn't find it, but did anyone manage to record him lip syncing that song before he started the Boy and his Game story?

Seems I have to post this here!
Well anyone who watched Day9 daily #241 enjoy! Credit goes to Xova!

Natural Steal on Delta Quadrant to warp prism cannons to immortal drops (that's right). Gold P v Gold Z
He countered with muta's which came a bit too late to be effective if you're curious.
Yep That's what I just did. Sure it's gold level, but it was pretty awesome. And yeah sorry Day9 for not listening to your whole thing about don't play DQ.
ALSO WARP PRISM CANNONS = AMAZING. That blew my mind on yesterday's funday. Seriously who knew?

Ok, if I have an awesome replay to send. Where should I send it and how should I label it?

Wow, this Day[9] Daily is one of the best ones for newer players I have ever seen.
Also this zerg 1-1-1[Destiny Cloud Fist] for zerg is really neat to see.

Now that you talk about it, it really is a 1-1-1 version for zerg: pool/roach equals to the first 1, lair tech equals to the second 1(or hydras for that matter) and the spire equals to the third 1.
Just like the gate-robo-stargate for protoss, which is also a 1-1-1.
