And to note: I am talking ONLY about marine vs baneling micro which is hardest micro in the game. I guarantee you ling micro is by far more difficult than marine micro Ling micro = move past to surround then attack. Doesn't seem that hard. Of course I don't want to start a discussion on what the hardest micro is. That'd get real dumb real fast.
To clarify, I'm not talking about ling micro against marines, or even terran for that matter. Foxt made an assertion that I'm objectively proving false with the following criteria:
1. lings are ranged, leaving their danger zone significantly larger than marines 2. lings are smaller, making them more difficult to select individually 3. lings move faster, making them more difficult to control
I am not asserting pure marine micro against banelings is hard, which I agree it is (And not completely intelligent for that matter imo, as throwing in a handful of marauders makes it infinitely easier for the cost). Furthermore, what something is, and what it usually is, are different ideas. The reason the majority of ling control is limited to surrounds is precisely because ling micro is so difficult.

I'm not sure I see how this applies or is comparable.

Meanwhile if you don't micro your infantry they get blown away by your own tank splash. Not impossible to deal with, but harder than people give it credit for. I don't know about that. I think maybe Ghost Snipe might be pretty deadly against BLs as well. I don't think Vikings are the one and only answer. Though I'm on the other side of the matchup, so I certainly could be wrong. Aren't BL's massive units? Does snipe do any good against massive units? I don't know and I can't be bothered to open the unit tester ^_^ But still...ghosts are soooo expensive, and they take up valuable barracks time. I'm not saying they aren't good against zerg for those that know how, but I'm not sure if it's a valid option. And maybe vikings aren't the be all and end all, but I think if they aren't your main anti BL unit then you're probably doing it wrong. The way to beat corruptor/BL mixes is usually using thors to back up the vikings.
You're forgetting the essential addition of infestors in the unit composition. Infestors are incredible against bio, vikings, and thors. Ghosts are an interesting idea, but I'm not entirely sure if it's viable. Thor anti air against armored units with 2+ armor will not end well, especially with infestor support. Infestor ling corrupter broodlord is a rather potent combination.

You have not credited any evidence to proove me wrong, yet. Do that or get out of here.
The onus is on you to prove your statement true, since YOU made the assertion. True some responses to your assertions are unwarranted, but your replies are equally not adding to the discussion. There is no evidence of a situation which takes 30 full seconds of non-stop microing against banelings.

I was amazed how day9 didnt mention the Archon Toilet when thinking about a way to use Vortex agressively.
anyways, loved this daily. Quite high level and doesnt concern a gold/platinum player like me, since I'm most likely thinking more about my macro than something like how to adjust my build for certain timings. Kiwikaki's games were really sick tho.
I'm looking forward for funday monday, hope you guys sent good zerg games :D And I hope the next FM will be a protoss one, maybe something with motherships!

Does anyone know where to get the replay of the game Day9 just analyzed?

i think he was trying to think of like a strategy to use where that is more of a 'tactic' i guess. archon toilet is definitely a great example of using a mothership to its potential though

Stephano won because he went for an army composition that incorporated units from all stages of the Zerg's tech tree (early, mid, late -- roach, infestor, broodlord), not because he had some insane timing push, that Day9 leads us to believe.
So that is what you wrote first. And then you edited it to this:

So.... I guess I don't even have to argue my point. With TL being overrun by bronze players who seem to understand the game on a deeper level than the pro's, I was just wanting to warn you of sounding that way. It seems you realized it yourself though.

I'm pretty sure he's specifically not interested in doing that, as he has said things that would imply this.

If you have two nydas worms you can.

2 nydus networks are needed for two nydus worms

You complain a lot about not being able to scroll when having Starcraft 2 in windowed mode, have you tried to use the Windowed(Fullscreen) option? Its great because you can alt tab without lagg and move around the map with your mouse freely :D

This, well there not all Zerg And Protoss but they are very Zerg and Protoss heavy recently, no love for us Terrans .

We just had two dailys with terrans in a row... (#233 TLO vs White-ra and #234 Strelok vs Stephano)
Quit whining

Talk about coincidence. I e-mailed begging him to do a newbie tuesday on ZvZ and he does one on the same day.
Add telepathy to the list of things Day[9] is capable of.

Has anyone seen his latest Zerg video? With the openings? I'm not too confident about his way of openings. Has anyone managed to do these in practice?
|
yeah I don't really like the opening as fast expand seam really safe to it as he will get so few mutas only 2-3 queens per hatch will be enough while my fast expand build is designed to mass queens and get enough roaches to defend a 1 base speed roach all-in (the queens help allot against it to with transfuse). I also fell like 1 base infestor is even more safe against this.
Also I don't understand why he thinks ZvZ is so dull now... it got allot of varying strategies now and it even involves allot of spell usage unlike most other matchups at this point.
