You said one of the biggest problem is the fact that people stretch their builds for all types of possible threats when they can in fact strengthen one build that can negate most of those threats and allow them to have a purpose and a goal for what to scout for. I very much agree. However I think the other big problem that should be considered if not as much, more, is the amount of money they have. Both players had well over 1000 minerals way way to early in game. In the end, starcraft comes down to multi tasking. They just don't have the APM required to play on a competitve level. You NEED To be doing stuff every second. FPS players like myself are not used to managing all that. IN FPS we have a gun and we pretty much go from there. I think its the ability to macro, (make units, spend money, MAKE STUFF) is the biggest wall for most if not all foreign rts players (like myself). I think if someone has even just 70% efficient macro by mid-late game, they can easily hit top10 plat if not diamond. Even top players like whitera, tlo, you will see that their macro slacks as more and more needs to be maintained throughout the game. The trouble with SC (if your not korean) is how far into the game can you maintian that "perfect macro" before you start to split. (the moment at which they aren't using their infrastructures/money efficiently) For copper plays their macro slips past the 2 probes. For bronze and silver, perhaps thier macro slips after their first building. For Gold, perhaps 5min in the game when they start moving with their army For Platinum, perhaps 10min the game as they make that first contact/ firstpush For Diamond, I am not sure because I am not in diamond myself. I have played many diamond players because I am plat 3rd and they are not much different. Watching replays, I do notice that they have perfect macro while scouting. So i guess its alll these minor fixes that upgrades them. As for tournament players, It is usually about mid game or during some sort of harass that their macro slips. HOWEVER I do see that IDRA seems to be able to keep his resources below 500 even to the very late game. But idra practices 12 hours a day so ya.. I think its near impossible to have even just 95% efficient macro by late game. Assumign you have 3 bases, the amount of mineral you get every 5 seconds is just over whelming. If you are trying to battle/harass you would at least need to spend 5-10 seconds making sure all goes well and during that time I dont see how its possible to maintain perfect timing and making sure (for example) you warp in units RIGHT when the warp gate cool down finishes. but then again I am not korean so ya lol

Not that I don't like watching my units slaughter them marines~ Also this is barely a problem with protoss due to warpgate, during battle you can just press W and spam your units in very easily and keep your money really low, only when you need to start doing it to multiple structure types it gets anoying cause you need to think more about what you have to get, mostly this would be an issue with Terran i supose. Also, just cause your not Korean doesn't mean you can't become like a Korean Dc from rl go battle.net! :D Remember, you don't have to look at your base to create units!

Hotkey your Raxes, Factories, and so forth and during the battle just do the little "4 sss 5 aaaa tab dd 6 ss" (4 being CCs, 5 being Raxes, 6 being Facts) and you'll be able to keep it low. Honestly, I don't even watch my battles almost at all anymore, I am usually expanding/transferring during big battles. That probably has something to do with SC2 being "young" Virgozero, eventually people will notice the units are smart and can handle themselves and barely need micro and will expend more effort into their macro game, or just develop the skill to do both in rapid succession, Not that I don't like watching my units slaughter them marines~ Also this is barely a problem with protoss due to warpgate, during battle you can just press W and spam your units in very easily and keep your money really low, only when you need to start doing it to multiple structure types it gets anoying cause you need to think more about what you have to get, mostly this would be an issue with Terran i supose. Are you sure it's pneumothorax? I recall Day9 relating his chest stitch, but was he actually referring to a physical stitch? I have had pneumothorax and the stuff I felt included: shortness of breath, difficulty & pain breathing (and laughing), and fatigue, among other things. If it is indeed hurting and it's not an actual stitch, Day9 should get it checked out. My right lung nearly collapsed on itself because of the ignorance of some doctors -_-" But when my left lung collapsed the next year, I knew what was up and went to the ER. tl;dr: If it's not an actual stitch, and it's spontaneously hurting, get it checked out!
