I was GM on NA and SEA at the end of last year, I've been playing LoL for 4 months now and I'm only around 1600 rating. LoL right now is the biggest game in Korea for a reason, if it was a casual game.. Korean teams wouldn't be interested in it.. but now we see MVP and oGs following in the steps of Startale and adding LoL teams. OGN has also realized how huge LoL is and have added a $200k USD LoL tournament.
Guys stop being so close minded, LoL is a huge esport and a game that requires a lot of skill. Some sc2 commentators are already moving to LoL, however I wish it was Day9.
LoL as a doesn't take a high amount of skill, everyone can play it and all it requires to be decent is knowledge. And everyone can get knowledge and feel better than people who just started playing and don't have that knowledge. So even if they are actually horrible players, they will still be better than all the new players who just started playing the game a week (or a month or 2 months) ago. And that feels good as a player.
Besides that LoL takes a LOT of mechanics, skill and concentration to play at the top level, because a single misclick can cost your entire team the game. And because the player base is so huge the competition among the best players is really fierce. But the competition for 99% of the players is really not even comparable in LoL compared to SC2 in my opinion.
If you are "only" at 1600 rating it probably doesn't mean that you lack the mechanical skill though (seeing that you were GM in SC2), it just means that you don't have all the knowledge required to play higher. You only play the game for like 4 months. I played Dota for 2 years pretty excessively and I still learned new stuff about the heroes and the mechanics every day, because there are soo many heroes/champions/whatever you like to call them. Also SC2 skill doesn't directly translate into LoL and vice versa (although it probably correlates pretty good). But 1600 rating already means that you are somewhere around the top 2% of LoL players which would equal a masters player and is pretty near to where you are (were?) as a SC2 player. And you have a lot of knowledge to catch up in LoL because most of the people around you are playing this game for 2 years and more.

Could you guys please stop derailing the thread into another SC2vsLOL battle?

I know your show isn't necessarily just a sc2 show but rather a gaming show, hence "be a better gamer". I just wanted to ask if you would ever consider the possibility of moving on to LoL, or even doing both sc2 and LoL commentaries. There is a huge demand for LoL commentators and personalities as it is the largest growing esports community. You would easily get 50k+ viewers for your dailies as there is a huge demand for people to learn LoL better, you could do a daily 5 days of the week and designate each day to a different role as there is 5 roles in LoL (Jungler, Top Lane, Mid Lane, AD bot, Support bot).
You would have endless content for your dailies to discuss as their is limitless strategies involved with over 90+ unique champions with many different skills, types of runes, and masteries to change your builds on those champions and not to mention different champion combination's that teams can use.
The LoL community is lacking a face and personality and you would be perfect. I ask you that you please consider doing LoL commentary a possibility. Also I might add, don't be afraid to learn the game, its very easy to learn. Problem is that because Day9 is likes analyzing much more than just commentating. And, well, you know what many SC players, including me, think of the skill ceiling/requirements of LoL. I would not be surprised if Day9 would just be bored analyzing LoL. Yeah skill ceiling. SC players would easily win all the tournaments in LoL. They just don't want to lower themselves to play such an easy game. Get real. As long as it's not trivial and people are playing, they will make it hard. If you want to do something just because it's difficult then there are much more difficult things in life than SC.
This game dissing is sickening really.

Play a 2v2. One player may only build ghosts and medivacs. Every time a nuke is launched, said player must type in a Dr. Seuss type rhyme "One fish, two fish. Red fish, NUKE FISH" etc.
Basically...it's a redo of the Nuke Seuss daily he did awhile back, but in a 2v2. He wants mass nukes. Like nuke city. Nuke something so hard that you actually punch through the map into the code below. That kind of thing.

Apologies if this has been posted or done but if it hasn't...
I'd like to see a Daily where he focuses on really subtle things that pros do, not necessarily to try to get people mid masters and below to try to incorporate it into their games, but just to point out the really subtle things that people do such as mine from the close minerals first (forcing their workers), or building placement (supply depots near ridges to give you more overall vision etc).
There are probably a gazillion things my scrub ass doesn't know about this beautiful game.
Yes?

How would you know it's a ladder game from a reply? IE I didn't think you could tell with out looking it up on Bnet.

It is possible to find out by consulting SC2Gears. It will list the game time as Auto Match 1v1 or something similar to that.

He said he's had a few where for the 1v1's the colours were wrong. In 1v1 it's always red v blue and people would submit replays of green v pink and such.

Hey Day[9], First thing... you're awesome and i watch your show as often as possible (including VoDs)
anyway, my idea/question is as follows:
if your someone like me, you don't have a sparring partner and playing on the ladder just crushes my moral when i do things like practice my mechanics and such with your exersices daily etc. Honestly some days i think i may be only cut out to just watch SC2 before I destroy my keyboard. So... What is a newbie to do.
Edit: i play protoss for what its worth.

Day[9], you awesome. Your commentating is hilarious. For eg, MKP lifting to gold at start, "He might be playing funday monday" or "Introducing the Terran on the center of the map... coming all the way from down here".
I just hope most of the others have your hilarious perk.
