Dear Day9,
I know your show isn't necessarily just a sc2 show but rather a gaming show, hence "be a better gamer". I just wanted to ask if you would ever consider the possibility of moving on to LoL, or even doing both sc2 and LoL commentaries. There is a huge demand for LoL commentators and personalities as it is the largest growing esports community. You would easily get 50k+ viewers for your dailies as there is a huge demand for people to learn LoL better, you could do a daily 5 days of the week and designate each day to a different role as there is 5 roles in LoL (Jungler, Top Lane, Mid Lane, AD bot, Support bot).
You would have endless content for your dailies to discuss as their is limitless strategies involved with over 90+ unique champions with many different skills, types of runes, and masteries to change your builds on those champions and not to mention different champion combination's that teams can use.
The LoL community is lacking a face and personality and you would be perfect. I ask you that you please consider doing LoL commentary a possibility. Also I might add, don't be afraid to learn the game, its very easy to learn.

It would take a lot of time for him learn all those roles good enough to teach others though, and Day9 has been an RTS gamer for what, 10 years? I really doubt he would think of switching games, and if he does, I hope he sticks to SC2

Can't be that hard to learn, I've been playing for 4 months and understand most of the aspects and strategies of the game. The game hasn't been out that long in Korea, I think it came out at the end of last year and already the Korean teams are better than foreign teams, so it doesn't take too long to pick up. I've also noticed Torch and Moletrap doing LoL commentary, and Torch seems to really know what he is talking about.
LoL is very easy to learn but hard to master, Day9 would be the perfect person to do LoL commentary.

Problem is that because Day9 is likes analyzing much more than just commentating. And, well, you know what many SC players, including me, think of the skill ceiling/requirements of LoL. I would not be surprised if Day9 would just be bored analyzing LoL.

Day,
Would love to see a commentary of a Scarlett game from IPL.

ever since i realised the first 100 or so dailies are of BW, ive been watching non stop! THANKS DAY9

And seriously, dont be suprised at the skill gap. It is definitely true for Brood war compared to LoL, the skill gap in terms of mechanics and amp requirements cannot even begin to be compared. But in terms of SC2, the user interface is much much more novice friendly, and the skill gap is actually quite close. Both have many strategies, dont say that he would be bored doing lol. As the man said, with over 90 heroes (which continually increases every month) there is endless strategy talk with LoL also. I think it would be good for day9 to expand to different horizons!

that daily.. did you recognize it? ill open your eyes: first sean told us he "took the weekend off" 1. first replay is about a guy who will never be able to feel with his heart because there is no true love and hell never get his merry back. 2. then he tells us how he got beaten up in a fight by someone he considered a friend. and got laughed in the face afterwards 3. after that he told us how he got pushed back by a girl. but that made him just stronger following his passion (LAN) 4. then he jumped on trees!?! 5. he told all the 8 years old out there that there is no damn christmas.
first i thought day9 had a horrible weekend where he got pushed back by his true love etc but then i got it. the solution: + Show Spoiler +He watched Naruto all weekend. It fits perfectly! Love not getting responded. Having a fight with a friend and get beaten although you trained hard. Jumping on the trees! Following your passion. Oh ye and the part with christmas, i think sean just hates kid to be honest.

starcraft and RTS gaming is where it's at, DOTA and its clones are just passing fads in the wind....

I like to think that Day9 focuses on starcraft because his heart and soul is still starcraft, not viewership numbers, or even esports.

What you guys don't understand is that LoL takes a very high amount of skill, it doesn't take much mechanics.. but it requires a lot of decision making and micro. I was GM on NA and SEA at the end of last year, I've been playing LoL for 4 months now and I'm only around 1600 rating. LoL right now is the biggest game in Korea for a reason, if it was a casual game.. Korean teams wouldn't be interested in it.. but now we see MVP and oGs following in the steps of Startale and adding LoL teams. OGN has also realized how huge LoL is and have added a $200k USD LoL tournament.
Guys stop being so close minded, LoL is a huge esport and a game that requires a lot of skill. Some sc2 commentators are already moving to LoL, however I wish it was Day9.

And so the thread turns into a LoL vs. SC2 argument.

Whats next weeks funday monday?

LoL is a big game because it is incredibly casual. And it's goddamn free.
LoL is such an incredibly easy game. Every character moves at the same speed, they all have access to the same items, and have 4 little "abilities" that make them unique. Abilities that have cooldowns, and reasonably long ones at that.
It really is an abomination to an eSport. I've played it for like 3 months now and the level of herp derp is ridiculous. The abilities in the game right now don't reward skill enough. Shit, they even show you exactly how far your spell can go, and exactly where it will go. There really isn't an "dodging" aside from a couple characters abilities, and it's basically just people juking back and forth in the exact same manner.
Not to mention so many of the characters abilities are similar. You've got the single target spell click spell that auto hits something and can be cast in any direction, then you've got the slightly longer ranged arrow spell that shoots in a straight line, then typically you've got some sort of cooldown ability, and then the "ultimate" which lets you do a bunch of damage to somebody really far away.
The only redeeming aspect of watching a professional LoL game would be the teamwork and strategy amongst the five individuals. But the maps are so goddamn massive and the players so spread out even that is minimal.
Did I mention it's free?
The difference between the skill cieling of SC2 and LoL is laughable. And that's pretty impressive considering BW had an even higher ceiling.

I think this superfanboy fellow might be a troll guys.

Dota has been around since 2003, im pretty sure its more then just a fad. I prefer SC2 myself but don't turn a blindeye to the fact that LoL is much much bigger then SC2 as far as playerbase is concerned.
Edit: Day9 should stick to SC2 though for sure.

I have an idea for a zerg funday monday. Only build tech buildings off creep.
I did this a few times in zvz hiding a 7 pool by throwing a hatch-cancel-pool somewhere random on the map. But I guess it could work for other tech as well, and once you are at lair (if you can get the upgrade before the pool dies) you could maybe use overlords to poop creep, The other way would be (if using overlord creep was considered too easy) to use chain injects from an army of queens which would really hamper your ability to be competitive.

poop a spire in a corner of the map, then surprise your opponent with mutas, or some other cool tech would love to see it used by pro players

LOL does not take a "very high amoint of skill". Guess why everyone and their dog play that game? Because its piss easy.
