How fast is 15 exactly? I think that's the real question, and no one seems to know. In any case, having fungal as a projectile is a huge nerf from the mindlessly easy instant cast it used to be, even if the projectile is, say, the speed of EMP.

I want to say the buff is fine, but I'm not making any calls on the new Infestor until I see it in action.

Infestor buff? Seriously? I haven't played SC2 in a couple months. I was looking forward to Hots.

Now I think I'm done permanently. I'll still watch though, even tho almost every tourney is dominated by Z.

Blizzard makes me quite sad tbh.

The most retarded changes ever.

Blink time was already increased once, why do it again? Blink stalkers can easily be defended in PvP, no need to this change. Blink also countered by marauders so easy in PvT, how am I supposed to get blink vs drops like this especially with the new caduceus reactor? And what's the problem with blink in PvZ? I mean come it's stupid.

The widow mine change is stupid as well, for example I was doing void ray all ins vs the new void rays, and the void rays were quite hard to kill since they die only to 2 shots from window mines and I can MSC to give vision and kill them. But now they'll only tickle void rays. And it won't even be able to stop units such as roaches, zealots, stalkers, it's completely worthless now.

And infestor buff? Are you kidding me? 10 range? How am I supposed to dodge fungals now. Isn't fungals already a problem in wol, why even buff it more. They didn't introduce something special to counter the fungals. Yeah you might say tempest, but tempest comes much later than infestor and there's no way to stop from getting fungaled.

I think increasing the FG projectile speed sounds like a good idea, but going from 9 down to 8, and now up to 10 range?! /sigh

I have never been happy about how the spell works, and every time I see Blizzard is changing fungal, I get let down when it's not a change to the freeze. Every other change is 100% pointless until that is addressed.

I'm really confused as to why David Kim won't let go of fungal growth. Nobody likes it, it's not fun to use, not fun to play against, not fun to watch. The spell is poorly designed, and despite community consensus that the ability sucks, we're going to give it 10 range and make it move 50% faster? Why can't we let this awful spell die or get re-designed?

I think it's pretty significant. It means widow mines won't 1-shot medivacs, banshees, zealots, stalkers, and probably a bunch of other units that they used to 1-shot.

Its actually funny. Becuase they didn't want widow mines to be too similar to mines in BW they make them hit air --> unforutnately that has some uintended consequences as it makes mutas too weak --> they chose to buff mutas --> unintended consequences as mutas now dominate zvz --> they buff the infestor --> soon to be unintended consequence as the infestor gets too strong again.

God I am so tired of the incompetency of Blizzard right now. They could just have chosen to remove widow mine AA and buff it vs ground.


I honestly doubt that it is every going to change. Spells such as Force Fields and Fungal Growth is making it so god damn hard to balance the game, because these two spells have been designed so poorly that they are either mind blowingly OP, or alternatively as crappy as Fungal Growth is right now (Update #9)

I saw a vid from before which showed fungal compared to EMP. EMP was about twice as fast. The buff (10->15) would imply fungal is about 75% of the speed of EMP.

And why is Blizzard so reluctant to change the FG unit freezing mechanic? Frozen units seem like the most frustrating (to play against) AND frustrating (to spectate) mechanic ever.

yeah, already rethought about that. It's a bad change, without other changes.
