yes, this mode is going to be insane against broods and especially battlecruisers. but in any case, numbers can be tweaked - what matters is this is a better, more interesting ability than the extremely one dimensional 250mm Cannon. not only that, but it removes the energy bar, making Thors viable for mech vs toss... awesome.
and as to that long qq post, there already is a goliath in sc2... its called the viking.

Because the "lore" and the upgrade system from BW was written when larvae inject and chrono boost didn't exist.
The other races has better producion capabilites so terran needs to have better upgrades to compensate.
I think it is a bad change though. I would prefer them to actually buff siege tanks by a lot while making the immortals hardened shields worse against high impact attacks from tanks an thors. Also, BCs suffer too much of feedbacks vs protoss. They should make yamatoo "front-loaded" so that its energy is drained before it starts to charge up and not after like it is now.
This way the upgrades could stay the same.
When I play mech TvP I go for 2-2 mech upgrades. Then, if my opponent seems to go heavy air I skip 3-3 mech in favor of air upgrades. Protoss air upgrades are on the cybernetics core and not on the forge. I can tolerate that they can chronoboost their upgrades out as I can sniff out the air switch and be ahead/even on upgrades anyways.

Vortex not able to kill massive units, whereas neural parasite can take control over massive. Faster healing and extreme speed buff for medivacs wtf. Mutalisk are too slow - lol - and get a speed buff. Yay dt shrine is cheaper - who cares when gateway units will suck even more with all these buffs to other races' units.

this is a cool patch, im very interested to see the game after this.
hots was feeling like WoL + some shit
but now the normal WoL units seem to have such new dynamics... brand new game imo. My excitement for hots just doubled.

I don't like the new mothership recall, it encourages players to bunch up their armies around their mothership for safety which totally contradicts the whole 'less deathabll' idea. I've been using mothership+skytoss vs zergs lately and I found mothership recall extremely useful for reinforcing bases under siege while still defending them with cloaking field. Also I think there was a game between kiwikaki and stephano(?) where in the late game kiwi did a feint attack on the forth on lost temple, then recalled his whole army into stephano's main. It was one of the most exciting moments in eSports ever and I don't think the new recall is the best idea, it limits recall's use for strategic retreat and removes it's offensive potential.

The intent of the Mothership changes is to phase the unit out from competitive play. It's the right choice since the balance of a MU should not depend on a single unit and one of its abilities. If there is something wrong with PvZ lategame after this patch it can be resolved by changing something other than the Mothership to achieve balance. Personally I'm glad, the Mothership is once again a novelty unit.

I'm really thrilled they addressed so many of the issues in WoL and are trying out things to make HoTS different. But err... wauv did Terran just get better \o/

Well first of all you should notice that every race has been buffed significantly. Medivacs have been buffed, but Protoss and Zerg has also been giving the means to deal with stronger bio forces. Same goes for improve Mutalisks. Also it is true that Gateways units may not do quite as well against bio units for instance, but Stargate on the other hand is now much more viable.
Secondly it is very intentional to nerf Vortex into obscurity, since it was very badly designed for competitive play. It was always ment for casuals.

Wow they listened about tempests :D thank god, no broodlord infestor 2.0 in our future guys! And same for thors, dat secondary mode...every Terran mech unit now has a "siege mode" which is pretty cool imo.
Terran just got wtf buffed, is this a dream? Dunno though, seems like buffs were thrown all around the house lol. I don't know about the widow mine not dealing with cloaked units...and cost reduced DT shrine. It's hard to complain with all the other good changes they seem to have made, but the widow mine change is meh. Cloak banshees and DTS are gonna be a pain in the ass when you want to "open" mech.
All the other changes...pretty sick across the board...some i'm sure are too good for each of the races. So all I'll say is thank god they did something to the tempest because i was starting to have nightmares of HOTS becoming tempest templar like WOL was becoming broodlord infestor every game every match-up...whew.
edit: ok, i will say one more thing. Seeker change is ridiculously stupid. It does not make the seeker missile more accessible. It's still 125 energy, all they did was make it ridiculously overpowered when you do get it, which to me is worse than having a more accessible seeker missile that has lower range.

Blizzard have been very clear that they want the mothership to be a "for the lols" unit that only sees light of day in pro matches as a diss.
Seems that the idea of seeker missile is to be a counter to massive and esp broodlord ultra as they don't stand much chance to get out of the way, if a toss loss a colossi to one of those they got seriously bad micro.
The medivac changes are the most puzzling thou, was anyone actually complaining that terran didn't have good enough drops? The healing buffs through upgrades are solid ideas thou imo.
Reaper changes with the new healing mechanic might be just want it needed, an upgraded reaper is now only slightly slower then a (0.2) then a speedling.
Lastly I'd prefer to see 3 upgrades from armory instead of 2. Attack vehicles, attack air and plating.

I think sharing both attack and armor upg between air and mech is too much. Armor only might be fine.

It doesn't have splash and it won't suck. One HSM will kill a BL from 10 range! Ravens cost half the supply of a BL and quite a bit less in terms of resources, so they're going to be very efficient vs them. Even against Ultras I imagine HSM will be okay. 300 single target dmg is a ton.
