I just launched the game and a 5GB download started oO I'm pretty sure that's not just the patch. Anyone else had the same thing?

We have run into an issue that is causing instability on the beta server. Though we have been looking into a resolution ever since the beta went live a few hours ago, we will unfortunately not be able to resolve this matter tonight. I'm really happy for such a shake up, but please Blizzard I beg you don't kill ling centric playstyles. I'd hate having to go roach every matchup.

thx 4 info. I played like 5 games and didn't managed to tech to medivacs even once, before getting dropped. At least I got 3 bases once lol :D

Nerf Protoss buff Terran and Zerg hugely, how does that make sense due to recent results, we now have 2 pheonix (oracle) a new useless capital ship to go alongside the carrier (still no carrier patch) and a cheaper dark shrine which has no thought behind it whatsoever. Thanks, Blizzard.

Without having a beta key I dont know the timings of course. However I can imagine if you go fast Oracle you will be able to contain an infantry terran quite well. With these stats they absolutely murder SCVs, you need defenses for them. But the standard defense of terran: some marines, really wont cut it. I wouldnt wish to try a bunch of Oracles against a marine ball, but at the same time a handful of marines also wont deal with Oracle harrasment, they simply get mowed down themselves.

Bio pushes would then become all-in quite fast. Since oracles would destroy the SCV population, and additionally also cut off the attackers from reinforcements. Then it is a matter of holding the bio with purify and forcefields.

You obviously haven't even tried it out yet, just spewing junk from your mouth. The new oracle is pretty awesome, actually. 5 of them can go in and kill a queen+spore crawler, then knock out 24 drones in about 15-20 seconds. Plus, time dilation is very useful, and so is the sight ability when used in conjunction with the tempest. The phoenix fills a slightly different role, as it is not just a harassing unit, but an anti-light air fighter. With the new muta speed buff, you're going to want phoenixes, but not oracles as much.

The tempest is FAR from useless. Forcing engagements from far away while not using attacks that cost money (interceptors) is pretty awesome, as well as the 60 sec build time (half the carrier's). Just because it requires a fleet beacon doesn't make it crap.

The cheaper dark shrine was to encourage DT use in general, since the 250 gas cost is prohibitive when you'd rather have more colossus or templar. You would know that if you read David Kim's post from a few days ago.

I like all of the changes, except... roaches pushes PvZ are still boring as hell and require the same old response. This one thing ruins PvZ in WoL, and it seems that won't change in HotS.

Oracle is anti-ground harassment with a crowd control option, Phoenix is anti-air superiority with a harassment option. The Tempest is far from useless, it still counter BLs and Colossi.

I thought the mommaship core cannon was pretty good against that. I haven't played enough of the beta to see yet, though.

Protosses have figured that one out already, I'm not sure what you are talking about? And yeah the ubbercannon on the mothership core buffed the protoss in that situation.
