Thanks blizzard!!!
THIS IS my only challenge I need to beat lmao/ I don't see how ppl on youtube get them on point blank on these suckers.

If you are having problems with a challenge I suggest you take a 10 minute break and come back and try again, don't try to force it for an hour, it just makes it worse imo. I had some problem with 28 and 30 and I just did something else for a while, came back and finished them in a couple of minutes. You have to be pretty calm and focused to be at your best

I almost went insane before I got the banshee one. For me it was the hardest one by far when I finally got it I had 2 hp left. On the snipe banelings, just move to bottom and snipe. No need to fiddle with stim. On the stalker tank achieve, just blink one stalker to the sweet spot. On the roach achieve unburrow roaches directly when they retarget. When bunker burns heal until it's almost down. On the other stalker achieve regular blink micro is enough.
Seems every fukin noob is using the portrait now, I'll stick with my zergling ^^
Ps. How can you get the master portrait with only 5/6 complete LOL

i think the ghost snipe one was easy i tried twice when i didnt stim the marines and left the units where they are. And i nearly got it both times. Then i just moved everything back, but them on hold and sniped everything, didnt need stim
hardest ones were the banshee kiting one and the 3 marines 2 zealots
rest werent really hard tbh

#27 - This one took me a while at first, but once I found out a simple trick I immediately beat it. Yes you have to find the sweet spot etc etc, but when you a-move, click AWAY from the marines, preferably in the same direction you were flying - if your banshee is in the sweet spot, it will attack. If it is not in the right spot, it will keep flying away and you will not sustain any damage as a result of you not being in the sweet spot. So easy once I figured this out.
#28 Hold down the R key for snipe or you'll have no chance
#30 I beat this one once I stopped trying to time everything so perfectly (I almost lost my mind in the process)... just pick up and drop the tank over and over as fast as you possibly can and you'll beat it (this is all I did, as I said trying to time it only drove me nuts). You should never be selecting the tank, only use the medivac.
|
finally #9 in 43.3 seconds and #24 without losing stalkers (which was easier)
|
Disappointed with the difficulty... pretty much 1-shotted everything until the later parts (25-30); where I had to retry like 2 times each zone. Oh well, ez achievements, I guess?
|
I found this map to be difficult on a few maps. Perhaps it was playing at 10 FPS that made the little bit of difference between winning and losing. I also learned a few new tricks though while playing this, so I'm happy about that.

Another way for the Safe Zone achievement besides the OP idea
Run both Stalkers up at same time to make sure each tank hit a different stalker. (if both hits the same Stalker, one may die later). Blink on top of one tank, Now if you can, focus fire fire on the far tank. if your stalkers already hit the close one, keep killing it and quickly run or blink to the other when the first is dead. One Stalker should be one shot close to death if everything went well

Hardest was 3 marines vs. two zealots. Keeping them in a perfect circle is hard. RO 29

do what the guide says. On the count down spam H on the medivac. Then when the stalkers first shoot right click the tank, then after the stalker shots hit the ground D+click on the medivac. Keep doing that. You don't need to target fire for that one but the trick is to get all the stalkers firing at the same spot.

Fucking CHRIST I cannot beat 27. I just fucking take damage no matter what I do, ever shot I take damage, what the fuck? Sometimes I just get lucky and don't take a shot but 90% of shots I take damage, hell, even when I'm just trying to run away I can go around a corner without taking damage. This is infuriating, it's like banshees are supposed to outrange marines but the marines shoot first anyways. I don't know if it's just, my internet's latency or what, but I'm about to stab a kitten in the eye with my razer blackwidow.
I'll try it your way, I was originally doing this, then I read somewhere that you should use hold position.
edit: no luck so far.

You have to pull the banshee away faster if you're shooting and taking damage, dunno what else to tell you. If you're too slow the banshee will decelerate and you'll get hit.

Just to add, you need to keep spamming hold on the medivac the whole time, since issuing the drop command will cancel the hold position and it'll run away.

this 27 tip is really good. i think one thing i found is that it's less about the sweet spot and more about the rhythm. you press a, then click forward at the exact timing that would cancel the attack animation (you're of course already moving forward as you do this). even when you don't attack. you get the timing down to the point where you're hitting the perfect animation cancel window even when you're not actually attacking. at that point you can get into a straight run and just tap to the rhythm and take out marines no problem. so i wasn't watching for the attack as a reference to cancel the animation, just getting the timing down in my head. just use the corners to get them closer to you.
not sure if i explained that clearly, but once this clicked, 27 was cake.

Wow.. everyone having trouble with Ghosts against banelings level.. I got that in 3 tries. The Banshee against marines are giving me a nightmare.

NO you don't. You only need to hit hold position on the medivac once.
Also for #27 use hold position instead of A move. That way the banshee wont dash towards the marines.

For #30, for whatever reason, after spending 45 minutes failing and watching every youtube video and every post related to it, I found my solution. I switched from fullscreen borderless to just fullscreen. I felt like my drop was slightly more responsive (no real missed drops). Enough that after 5 tries from switching, I beat it.
Please post if fullscreen vs fullscren borderless helps.

NUmber 26: Microinsanity
Feedback PDD, archon merge, graviton the tanks, use stalkers to kill vikings. Keep GB'ing the tanks and use the archon and stalkers to clean up rauders and tanks. use phoenix for raven.

To me getting the portrait is too easy
You should have all achievements (even the #9 and #24 one) to get it... everybody uses it

So here's a little tip for you if you are having the same problem as I was having: Open your Hotkey Menu Go To Terran Units Select Medivac Go to Drop, click on it add F as an alternate hotkey. Whenever you need to drop the tank, instead of hitting just D, hit DF - it will make the drop command more likely to register, thus reducing the chances of you screwing up the timing. I hope this helps everyone! Cheers I thought the drop wasn't registering but there's just a slight delay I had to account for. Once I found that it got easier :[
I did 1 hold position on the medivac at the start then just timed it to the best of my ability. Once you load you have to immediately drop the tank again so the medivac doesn't draw fire and screw up the timing of the stalker shots. Once they get out of rotation it gets impossible because you can't dodge shots any longer, either the tank or medivac will be taking damage.
