Valerian claims to want to save her, but why? how could he know of her importace for the survival of every race in the galaxy? is he lying and just working with his father while narud holds the strings to get rid of kerrigan and fulfill the overmind's prophecy? If so why do they need raynor in the first place? My theory is that the artifact does more than just kill zerg and protoss dna and Kerrigan knows this. The final events of wings happened because the player succeeds in preventing her from getting the artifact before she can.

I would be rather concerned if I were Arcturus, Warfield and Valerian technically betrayed him by taking thousands of men to Char without his consent, he can't blame them because it worked, and Valerian allied with his most determined opponent. Given the tone and ambiance of WoL, I don't think the plot is subtle enough for such political intrigues to ever happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if Valerian suddenly decides he would make a better ruler than his father. Have the Raiders launch a "surprise" attack against the capital, have your men join the fray and take Arcturus into custody, and voila, happy change of leadership. Obviously it wouldn't be as simple as that, but it is closer to Valerian did to attack Char than his actions in WoL are to loyal obedience.

But it still doesn't explain why Arcturus is manipulating Tychus from the very start. Maybe killing raynor was his original mission and as events unfolded it became clear that a real chance of killing Kerrigan was much sweeter than the former.

+ Show Spoiler + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQeIazsQIcw&feature=player_embedded#! (2:18) - It's about how the game begins. [insert picture of philip j. fry] Haha, thank you. No, I am unfortunately not employed by Blizzard. Just curious, anxious, and impatient. By the way, anyone else who is curious buy tickets (virtual or not) to Blizzcon. I'm sure there'll be something there. Maybe killing raynor was his original mission and as events unfolded it became clear that a real chance of killing Kerrigan was much sweeter than the former. This was brought up in the story panel on Blizzcon 2010 (link on YouTube and in the first post of the thread). Metzen and Kindregan admitted it being a plot hole, as it would make no sense for Arcturus to send Tychus to Raynor in hope of him killing Kerrigan. Kindregan gave his theory, which was that Mengsk just made a move, chess-wise, and not necessarily knowing where it would end. Once Kerrigan appears, we see Tychus checking out Kerrigan, which means he has probably gotten the order.

![]() So, I think everyone noticed the 'rhynadons'. 3 of them. But have you noticed this guy here? ![]() Also 3 of this! (2 of them, you can only see their tails) So what, what´s happening? All the zerg tentacles and flowers (something like Char´s blooms) indicate it is infested. But what about all the jungle? Is that a jungle planet with zerg "peacefully" infesting it, or is the jungle enviroment fully created by zerg? Some would say its Char redeemed. I wouldn´t guess so. Does Char looks like this? ![]() Despite all the lava, you know what? I would say a higly infested Aiur... Well, to finish, the "jungle ultralisk" picture ![]() The ultralisk is covered with ivys. I think it shows that Kerrigan is visiting a jungle planet where there is zerg to regather, and where we will be playing around 3 missions. The ultralisk and the "tigerlisk" would be units rewarded; not sure about the rhynadon. PS: i remind a infested ursadak in the Editor, where does it apear in the campaing?

Assuming she is repentant, I assume she'll be allied with Jim, so I don't see why he would let her keep the planet infested given the amount of technology on it that was lost when the planet fell. Even if she isn't, the Swarm is still going to be headless until she regains her position of leadership, and I have to think at least some of the Khalai would want nothing more than to be away from the Nerazim and reclaim their home. Sounds like a possibility for the 3rd expansion tbh. The toss reclaiming auir, perhaps it could happen towards the end of HotS with a power struggle (cold warish) going on between kerrigan and jim / toss about what happens to it. Would be interesting. With the 3rd expansion being about how toss re-establish dominance around the korprulu sector.

I remember somewhere a Blizzard guy saying they considered making a forth race, like the Kalathi (the space-Iraqian the protoss brought democracy to with the Colossi...), but nerverminded it because of how balance is beautiful with three races etc. That make me think how fun it would be to destroy some yet unknown sapient species with the Zerg in Hots, or even crushing a petty Kelathi revenge in LotV :D (do you remember the giant-mecha doodad in SC1?)

But to be honest, I think they screwed up the story with Wings of Liberty. I liked where it was going with Brood War.
