Anyone knows what Hot Shot is for? I got it today as well, winning a platinum 3v3 game. So far, it seems you can only get Hot Shot for doing team games, but that doesn't really help much.. Maybe if those who got it could post where they are in the ladder (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond), so it's easier to narrow down what you have to do to get Hot Shot?

Take it back, I got promoted from plat to diamond the next game. Maybe when they realize they need to promote you they send you through some "qualification rounds" to see where you belong? No idea, just seems weird I got promoted next game. Also I was first in plat. Probably nothing to do with that though, but you never know.

I certainly wasn't promoted. I lost the first game before I got Hot Shot, got it when I won, then I lost like... 5 games in a row :D So promotion does not seem to be it.

The monster mash one is easy. Simply clear everything in between the ARES and Brutalisk, camp your main force right next to the ARES beacon and get one marine to release the Brutalisk. Stim the marine and run back towards the ARES, stim again half way through the run so the Brutalisk doesn't catch up. Once your marine meets up with your main group simply run your force on the ARES beacon.

During the cutscene the Brutalisk will have nothing to attack and will appear to make it's way back to where it came but as soon as the cutscene is over it will run right back to the ARES. Simply kill it whatever weapon add on you like and use your army to assist.

Very simple (also this will get you the achievement for killing Brutalisk without any units dying.

^^or, you can simply send 1 marine to activate ARES, bring him to the brutalisk room and kill it with the team in less than 10seconds!

I had finished all of my placement matches in all leagues never go it.

Just now I finished 5 4(party)v4 placements, went 4-1...and I still got the achievement.

I played 2v2 placement matches with a friend, we went 5-0 and got the 'Hot Shot' FoS achievement.

Hotshot seems pretty bugged, I didn't even know it existed despite going 5-0 in 1v1 and 2v2, then I suddenly got it going 5-0 in 2v2 with a different friend.

Pretty sure mines bugged forever. I've gone 5-0 in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 about 7x so far and still haven't got it. Ah well...

me and some members of my team decided to try out a few things and some also went for this achievement...
as it currenty seems the hot shot f.o.s. has a bug where instead of counting just the respective qualification matches it somehow counts inbetween played matches aswell, regardless of it's the same qualification league or not...

for example if you played 3 4vs4matches 3-0, decided to play a 1vs1 or any other ranked match inbetween and lose, even though after you win the other 2 4vs4 matches 2-0 you won't get the achievement...

however this bug has also some positive effects...
let's say again you played 3 4v4matches 3-0 and decided to go for 3v3's next and won the first 2 games 2-0, you should get the achievement as soon as you finish your 4v4's qualification matches...

It's wierd, I came here cuz I got the 'Hot shot" achi. And I had already been placed in all my divisions. I finished playin a random 4v4 when I got it. wierd. Wanna know what I did.

There is another feat of strength 'BlizzConqueror 2010'. Anyone who purchased a ticket to 2010 BlizzCon gets it.

You get more qualifing matches everytime you make a new team with someone. In addition the Hotshot achievement is bugged so you might get it randomly anyway.
