Hopefully I will be able to do both. It's not like I'm going to skip any of the cut scenes or rush through the dialogs. More like spend a lot of time playing the game right now.

I would prefer to go through the campaign methodically over a week or more and enjoy it. To me rushing to get through seems like you're taking a "work" attitude towards it, like a chore you have to do. I would rather take my time and savor it.

Eh, I really like speedrunning but I plan to take my sweet time with this. I'll probably walk around a lot in the ship between the missions, gather as much of the story as possible and round of with some online games between every 2-3 missions or so.

I'm planning on activating it asap, and expecting the servers to melt, leaving only Single-Player to do.

It is possible to finish it much faster than that, judging from one of the campaign achievements. See the "Hurry Up: It's Raid Night" achievement.

The campaign is awesome. Finished 3 missions till now (yay being in europe), and wow, they have put a lot of work into it.
No way I'm doing a speedrun though, I am in no hurry.

I think I'm going to try to play the hardest mode with a speedrun concept. I expect to fail many times, but I bet Blizzard has something locked by playing it hard mode.

This. I'm going through the campaign first, for sure, but I'm going to take it nice and slow.
I've waited 12 years for this, I'm not going to ram through it haphazardly and be done.

Playing the campaign on hard now. On mission 3 at the moment. I'm taking my good time to check out all the dialog between missions
|
finished mission 6 on hard... really well done so far! I enjoy it a lot.. the only thing that bothers me is, that you cant see the achievement for a mission before you play it. is that correct or am i missing that anywhere? I hardly complete a mission with all achievements cause I just dont know what the achievements are until i finish it. Sure, I could replay the mission to finish the missing ones, but seeing the achievements before you start the mission would be a much better option.

I would tend to assume most people aren't even going to touch the campaign for at least the first few hours they play, and many will never even complete the campaign at all.
This is Starcraft; think again.

I love Lost Viking

Well twelve years down the line all we remember and love is the esport and the competitive play, but don't forget Blizzard RTS's have easily the strongest narratives and campaign level design in the history of RTS.

I intend to play the campaign until I finish it, but in no means do I plan on doing a "speed run" to get the best times on a particular level. I'm going to enjoy myself, explore, listen to the dialogue, and most of all, HAVE FUN playing it to the fullest ^^. Brutal for the win xD.

You actually can, press F9 when you are at your ship
About your speedrun idea - don't do it. If you play the game at a normal pace, I guess there is around 60 hours of very fun gameplay. When you get sick of the campaign, go laddering then come back. We waited for so long (and we got such a great product), that it would be a real shame to speedrun it on your first try.
I will finish the game on hard, then grab all the campaign achievements on hard, then speedrun on normal, then on hard, all while laddering when I feel like it. Will be a blast
