a similar situation happened with ronaldo in korea a number of years ago during juventus' pre season. the organisers were sued and they eventually went bankrupt.

How can you possibly guarantee that someone will play months in advance? Surely it's not reasonable for anyone to rely on such a guarantee. Tough to be a promoter I guess

Its a fairly common thing for these asia tours, specially for Cronaldo and Messi (moreso even for Cronaldo). Teams get a boatload of money but the contract states that player xyz has to play at least x minutes. Non Messi or Cronaldo things would state something that x% of starter team must make an appearance. This was true as well in the US a few years ago.
Didnt his al nasr games from last month in China get postponed because he had a small injury? Same thing. At their age its a bigger gamble.

You come to Barcelona to see Barça play, even if Messi wasn't there, it was still an amazing team and the home game atmosphere is great: it's a spectacle no matter who is playing. However, a friendly game of Inter Miami vs .. someone, in Hong Kong? Nobody cares about the other 21 players on the field. People bought tickets to see Messi play. It shouldn't be seen as a football game, but as an entertainment event. You'd be pissed off too if you bought tickets for Beyonce, but instead all you got were the backup dancers...

I'd argue it was not just the best German football has to offer but it was an outstanding performance from both teams that European football in general has to offer. But I'm unsure if it was wise for Leverkusen to play that game at the limit. They have to play Bayern on Saturday and if they lose this, they lose the league. When you see so many Germans on the pitch giving it their all you have to wonder if not the wrong Germans are playing for the national team... I really hope hoeness will confirm this season in the years to come!
I'm really impressed by Wirtz. That kid is going places. Some Stuttgartes also played really well and I think at least Undav and Anton should get a invite for the German national team friendlies in spring

I thought Undav already is invited? Definitely deserves it, also Wirtz but at the same position as at Stuttgard.
|
Undav must have priority to Füllkrug for Germany. He scores same amount of goals PLUS is integrated into the whole play. Füllkrug is pure goals and thats it... And yeah Anton needs at least one start in the friendlies to show if he should be a candidate
Wirtz is definitely world class. Götze type of generational talent

i thought wirtz would be behind on the development stage given he tore his ACL two years ago but wow he's exceeded all expectations
also speaking of world class talent, did moukoko's development just stall ever since haaland left? or was his talent exaggerated because he was just bigger and faster than everyone at the younger age groups and now that he's playing senior football, is being exposed.

Moukoko has had bad luck with injuries. And the last few weeks both Reus and Brandt are missing so Dortmund are creating almost no chances. Even the games where they scored there were quite few penalties. Moukoko just needs more playtime

Definitely quite a bit fallen behind compared to Wirtz / Musiala. Also I feel Dortmund as a whole is in a bit of a slump ever since losing the league to Bayern last season

Yeah Dortmund hat a huge psychological hit with losing the league on the last minutes last season And then their two of their best players left: Bellingham and Gueirro

Yeah 5 point lead, Bayern looked so toothless, dominated the ball but literally created nothing, Leverkusen countered perfectly and won the game deservedly so lol. Mad!
Was hoping to see more ball play from Leverkusen personally to see what Xabi style is, to see if it can transfer to Liverpool etc but that was just a classic good solid counter attack game plan to beat a team that is used to possession and on paper is "better".
Will Leverkusen throw harder than last years dortmund or will they break all the records!

Season is still long! But wow Tuchel has made Bayern such a bad side. They won more games than last year (all due to having Kane as a striker) but their performances have been so bad

The stats I'm looking at show xG 1.76 - 0.27. That's inexcusably low for Bayern in any kind of important game where they're down by a goal at 20 minutes.

you can take the man out of tottenham but you cant take tottenham out of the man.
