Klinsman's tactics are terrible, 0 support for the wingers and no progression from the midfield to the front 3. It's either hope a through ball gets to Son, or wait for a winger to beat their man 1v1. Only after the 70th minute, either he finally just said, fuck it do whatever, the Korean team stopped listening to him, or Korea got more space to operate because of SA parking the bus, or a combination of the above. Whatever happened, Korea finally overloaded the wings to allow for dangerous crosses into the box where they finally got their chance to equalize after a masterclass performance from the SA keeper. Iran barely scrape by Syria, but no Terami for Japan means their attack will look very shaky. Don't expect them to advance. Meanwhile, Korea are going to be in serious trouble against Australia who are going to have 2 extra days and no extra time advantage. well they beat australia :D Yeah, barely. As usual, they looked ineffective until later in the game and had to rely on Miller being a pseudo-Korean citizen.

But about Klinsmann, well I'm biased since he was one of my childhood heroes, but even I start to wonder if as a coach he's actually skilled or mostly lucky. My impression was that he's the most efficient when he makes players unleash their full potential by means of getting hold of their emotions. Which is something I'd expect to be more difficult the bigger the cultural barrier is. Is there any information on how what the korean players opionion on him is?

Klinsmann is the head coach. It's Andreas Herzog who is the brains behind the team (just like Löw was previously).
For me defeating Australia is a big achievement and I say that as a Japanese. I would never criticise a match where Japan beat Australia no matter how. So please take this one as a win

Japan knocked out by Iran!
Qatar are leading their quarter as well. Looking like South Korea vs the Middle East.
Aussies wasted so many chances. Game should have been over at half time. Oh well, always next time

I really really hope japan coach gets fired now

Again... wouldn't Real Madrid have to unload several players to make this transfer possible?

No it is a free transfer, but this happened the last time he was gonna be a free transfer, then 3 weeks later he signed a new deal at PSG.
Whats different this time i do not know....however if Real Madrid get Mbappe, good lord they are going to be broken!
Bellingham x Mbappe x Vini Jr....madness

A lot of Liverpool fans think that Endo was coasting this tournament, might have had his heart back in Liverpool especially after the Klopp news. Theory that he just wants to come back and win trophies for Klopp before he leaves. Who knows though.

Exactly. I have been saying this for 2 years now and most people made fun of me. I hope now more people realise how bad Japan coach is
That's such bs from those fans. If Endo had to choose between playing in the PL ever or win this Asia cup he would have definitely taking winning trophies with Japan.

Bellingham x Mbappe x Vini Jr....madness Honestly I would expect Al-Khelaifi do pretty much anything to stop this happening. If an enormous contract doesn't work, he'll resort to something more direct.

Have you seen any game of Japan? If you think Itakura was the only one at fault for Japan losing to Iran you have no clue whatsoever.

They will be broken but in the opposite direction. Vinicius will have to go, locker room will be in chambles. Getting mbappe makes no sense outside of some marketing thing.

Obviously, but Japan has more than enough talent in the entire squad that even with Itakura's horrendous performance Japan should have created enough chances to go past Iran.
Japan coach just sucks.

Just get this Poochettino idiot out of my club, guy is awful, Spurs trash. His whole career ended when he lost that champs league final vs Liverpool. Has been broken and bad ever since. Look at what he did at PSG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Made Messi score 4 goals a season (was a little more than that but still) then Messi goes on to win world cup lol
Just get him out, then work on this stupid board and there ideas of buying children for EXCESSIVE amounts of money and start planning properly. Stop selling our OWN kids, to buy kids of worse quality, that again is BAFFLING.
Still, we should not be THIS bad, this is Poch, with his square pegs in round holes and no sense of style of play at all.

Worst performance of the season by us today and it's not even remotely close. I was happy to emerge from the first half with a lucky handball own goal (which was hilarious), felt like we had control of the 2nd half but then Klopp made changes and it sort of derailed our momentum.
Combination of some players not being the most fit (Trent looked VERY sluggish) and also some tactical errors (weak press with Gakpo and Gravy, but then still playing a high line? Should've just played a low block style which Arsenal notoriously cannot break).
Oh well, we move on, but now we're behind City. A win here would've really seen us take control of the title race but now we might be in a fight for second with Arsenal.

City and Liverpool play each other in 4 weeks. Until then nothing is decided IMO
