Yeah idk if they are top D in the league since they lost to the Raiders (unless OAK is like some sort of godly defense killer). I'd say top 5 defenses rn (in no particular order):
- New England - Chicago - Buffalo - Green Bay - Pittsburgh
Then maybe we have Indianapolis and Jacksonville rounding that out (JAX is slumping rn).

Ben Watson was just released today. Didn't someone here pick him up?

Need to bounce an idea off you folks:
As I'm sure most in the US are aware, sports betting is newly legal in a number of states, mine included. As such a number of sports betting services are offering a one-time, "risk-free", fully refundable bet to draw in new users, whom they will certainly bleed of their cash over a lifetime of sports betting.
So - what's stopping myself and a friend from signing up, making simultaneous "risk free" bets on opposite sides of a line, such that one of us is gaurenteed to win, and the other can collect the refund? One particular service in our area is offering up to $500 as the refundable cap, this seems like an easy $250 in the bank for each of us if we go through with this.
Are we missing something?

The 49ers are outmatching the Browns in every way.

Lol yeah, I was just gonna say that

Is like Browns had that one OBJ to Landry pass play and they don’t know what to do after.
Oh lawd pls help this team.

Back to purgatory Browns
After week 5, it seems like Pats are top in AFC (what else is new), with the Chiefs and Bills as the 2nd tier (each team being lopsided in favor of offense and defense respectively). Meanwhile, the NFC looks like Saints, 49ers, and Seahawks? Makes the NFCW pretty interesting

Well Chicago can't be there because just yesterday they were thrashed by Jacobs on Oak. But they have been up and down. What will be interesting is how good will Indy be when they get their D stars back. I'm also not sure about the Steelers since both the Seahawks and the Pats cruised through their defense. I think they only look good recently because they have been eating so much clock since their game plan changed to basically 100% running plays (and 2 yard or shorter throws).
Idk with adding Minkah Fitzpatrick, they've looked pretty good. They should have beaten the Ravens, and they show steady improvement since the beginning of the year. Their LB core is great with Watt/D. Bush and Fitzpatrick in the secondary. Maybe top 5 is a stretch, but they are much improved.
also, Baker Mayfield looked like utter garbage last night. He tries to look like Mahomes but looks like shit, holds the ball too long, takes too many sacks. Its pretty funny to see the Baker hype train derail this quickly. He looks like a bottom-10 QB this year.
|
I think if the Browns were to replace Mayfield with even only a mediocre QB, they’d play better. Dude gets read like a book, has no sense of the pocket or its collapse direction, and is not nearly quick enough to gunsling like he tries to.
|
He's got one or two more years to get it turned around. If he somehow helps them squeak into the post season, his leash will lighten up. But he'll need some marked improvement through the season and after.

Yeah I picked up Watson, when I saw he was out this week I also picked up Doyle as recommended. It didn't really matter cuz I got blown out by Aaron Jones and co.
Gonna offer (Golladay or Gallup) + Doyle for Waller + (John Brown or D.J Moore) and see where that goes.

Niners vs Rams Sunday will tell us a lot about if Sean Mcvay can keep up with Kyle Shanhan's creative trickery. I lean towards McVay being the 2nd best coach in his division. Sean reminds me of the former NBA coach Marc Jackson when he was coaching the Golden State Warriors, winning games because of a great roster instead of strategic play calling.
Falcons havent been the same since Kyle left.

He seems interested, need to figure out if I'd rather get Brown or Moore back in the deal.
Both have 39 targets and 1 TD. Brown has 390 yards and 28 rec vs Moore 326 yards and 26 rec. My gut tells me that with Brown being older he's more likely to get hurt and he's never going to be a true #1 on his team whereas Moore still has room to improve.
Just saw this:

Are we missing something? I don't know how this sports betting site works, but with a lot of gambling sites you have to bet a certain amount of money to be able to collect your bonuses.
For example, there could be some small print on this saying you have to bet $10,000 before you can withdraw any winnings. You'd have to double down a few times, or bet your $500 19 more times, before you'd be able to get anything back. There's usually some sort of catch like this to further sucker people in.
