As I'm sure most in the US are aware, sports betting is newly legal in a number of states, mine included. As such a number of sports betting services are offering a one-time, "risk-free", fully refundable bet to draw in new users, whom they will certainly bleed of their cash over a lifetime of sports betting.
So - what's stopping myself and a friend from signing up, making simultaneous "risk free" bets on opposite sides of a line, such that one of us is gaurenteed to win, and the other can collect the refund? One particular service in our area is offering up to $500 as the refundable cap, this seems like an easy $250 in the bank for each of us if we go through with this.
Are we missing something? I don't know how this sports betting site works, but with a lot of gambling sites you have to bet a certain amount of money to be able to collect your bonuses. For example, there could be some small print on this saying you have to bet $10,000 before you can withdraw any winnings. You'd have to double down a few times, or bet your $500 19 more times, before you'd be able to get anything back. There's usually some sort of catch like this to further sucker people in. See this is exactly the sort of thing that I'm worried about, guess I need to read all the fine print

So the XFL Draft is on October 15th and 16th. Weather it is going to be televised or not will be tbd. Players are going paid bi-weekly which is a strange way of going about payroll. Training Camp starts January 4th and ends on the 21st when player cuts occur.

Dapgate is the most important issue this week.

AB is calling on all Patriots fans to get the Patriots to bring him back so he can earn the money he's owed.

At first his downwards spiral was half-amusing. But now it’s just concerning. I hope he will find solace, sooner than later, during this manic episode.

I really think AB needs to be treated as a potential Aaron Hernandez. Not that he's going to go kill anyone, but that he needs some kind of mental health...health.

Dude is unbelievably great at his position and would have had thrown money at him in the 70's, but they born in the wrong decade. They failed to evolve to PC culture standards and now have to pay the piper.

Dude gets read like a book, has no sense of the pocket or its collapse direction, and is not nearly quick enough to gunsling like he tries to. to be fair, that OL looks fucking awful and the Niners DL is legitimately really good this year.
Line play is so huge. The Niners have had drastically improved OL play this year and it's paying dividends bigtime. Their run game looks phenomenal

Yeah, the Browns O Line is garbage and SF’s defense was on fire from the get-go, so I guess I’ll have to reserve judgment. Still, I think it’s highly likely that Mayfield goes down as a mediocre at best QB who had a great rookie year.

I think its a mixture of O-Line being absolutely abysmal and Freddie Kitchens being a bad playcaller. It felt like every Baker dropback was a 10+ yard pass attempt which failed. NFL offense has evolved into the "Brady bread and butter", aka small screen passes or 5 yard draws or RPO with the mixture of long passes when it makes sense. When the defense knows you are going deep to OBJ/Landry on every play, they are going to stop you bar none.
I have heard that Kitchens is really struggling and in above his head, and sources have said that he is not fit to be a head coach.

I have heard similar things, I don’t think Kitchens is the right man for the job.

I can see the Niners going 9-1 after the next 6 games then losing 5 of 6 because the back end of their schedule is all playoff teams. The niners look awesome but they have only played Tampa Bay before they got good, Steelers without a QB, Browns with no O-line, etc. I see SF going 9-7 or 10-6 but don't know if that will be enough to win the division over Wilson and the Hawks. I see the 49ers making the wild card spot then getting beat up just like when the Rams lost to Falcons before making there superbowl run the year after.
Jimmy G needs better chemistry with his WR"s, not sure if hes better than Jacoby right now.

Yea, if you are doing 10 yard passes, a high % need to be play action. Can't find any updated stats on PA % though.

Figures, as soon as I drop Malcolm Brown to stream DEF, Gurley is questionable for playing.

Welcome to every week I've had since week 3 lol

This is such an odd game. I'm convinced its secretly bring held in Amsterdam. The oddness exceeds a mere Thursday night or London game. Its a Thursday night Amsterdam game.

There are a lot of bad teams this year but it's quite an intriguing season.
I'm happy the 49ers are relevant again, seems like they've been in the wilderness for a while. I hope the Bills continue to win to keep the patriots honest.
Eagles season is really in the balance, we're pretty beat up but Jason Peters is on the way back and our secondary is getting back to fitness. I really want us to draft secondary in the off season.

Pat Shurmur looked embarrassing last night. Yes, a lot of his weapons were out and its the Giants but when you punt into the wind on 4th and 2 down 14 in the 4th quarter with 10:00 minutes to go for a 30 yard punt you look like a fucking idiot. You're going to lose the game anyways, why not go for it and give yourself a sliver of a chance. Instead he punts it, the Pats score and go up 3TDs, and THEN Shurmur decides to strategically use timeouts.
Imbecile.
