Like they were talking about a few posts back, this is something that wasn't written into the contract. Some won't budge. Some will see altruism. I'll wait and see how it unfolds.

"The coaches work under contracts that typically would preclude salary cuts without their approval...The type of force majeure clauses that would give a school the ability to withhold payment from a coach are rare and unlikely to be ironclad, according to multiple industry sources who spoke to ESPN." If you don't know what's happening, do some research before posting bullshit. The fuck? Take your anger some place else ass. And again, the posts before I made mine already commented on this whole thing. I don't know why you're getting a fucking attitude with me. Like I said, the fucking coaches can still talk to the school and figure something out if they are put into that position where the season doesn't happen. Don't take your bullshit out on me.

Meanwhile, universities are cutting varsity sports like my own institution. "In 2017, 39 of the 50 states' payrolls were topped by a football or men's basketball coach." This is bullshit but whatever. ESPN has a good article on this: https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/29468590/some-not-all-coaches-share-colleges-burden-amid-coronavirus-pandemic Wow 10% voluntary paycuts from millionaires, how fucking noble. The highest is 20% from a small number of coaches. IMO most universities that are cutting programs are doing so because they already wanted to. Most places admit athletes significantly below normal academic standards, most decision makers are academics. They do this for trash sports to legitimize the CFB and CBBA revenue. I don't like this because it makes schools admit and graduate bad students. The reality is most programs are charities that appeal to minor faculty interests, or serve the TIX mandate. If you can break that in a pandemic its good. Problem: Most schools wont survive without bailouts.

If one of the players dies in camp or if they actually play itll be a monumental scandal. Im actually pretty pissed at many of the coaches in the big 10 coming out in opposition to this. Its just furthering the divide. It feels like theres no unified front in anything anymore. Frost from Nebraska implying they would try to play anyway is ridiculus.

Not really, the Big's plan plan is aggressively idiotic. Players will still be on campus and working out in team facilities up to 20 hrs a week. All they have done is eliminate the games and travel (which is less of a win than you'd think because the players are already together for practice). Indeed, by removing games they essentially added 2 party days to the players calendar per week, and removed the incentive not to party.
