Pande is the sort of person who hates all other London clubs but would be totally sad if Chelsea were the only London club in the PL

Plus nowadays, there "big players" do not perform on the national team which triggers me even more. Chelsea rivals always been Spurs, then it was Arsenal. I love Arsenal Sharkie, easiest 6 points of the season for last decade :D but no we just hate Spurs for many many reasons and i add in another hate due to there players put an England shirt on and play so poorly it hurts
Didn't Arsenal beat Chelsea this season?

The stupidest English football rivalry is Brighton fans hating Crystal Palace. There's no other clubs near Brighton to hate so they just follow the railway into London and get to Palace 5 minutes before Millwall or Chelsea. Sometimes it just feels like fans want a rival to hate. The most confusing thing is Brighton fans hate Gus Poyet for taking a shit in the Palace dressing room as their manager. But if you hate Palace surely that should make him a legend. It makes no sense on so many levels. I like winding up Brighton fans by telling them Poyet was the best thing that ever happened to their club and untill this season when they will probablly get promotoed to the Premier League to renew their rediciolous M23 derby. I bet Palace fans don't give a shit about Brighton and think Chelsea, Millwall and Fulham (let's not forget Real Wimbeldon) clubs actually geographically close to them are their rivals.
It's kind of like the English thinking Germany are our big rivals when actually Germans don't give a shit about England and are far more concerned about the Dutch.

Well... the German-Dutch rivalry is also slowly dying, as the only chance to play them is when we are thrown in the same qualifier groups for EC/WC.

Yet you still find the need to invent a new song every time Oranje bolloxes up the qualifier (and if Germany were ever to do the same, I'm sure the Dutch musicians would have a great time finding ways to rub that in their faces too).

Sure it isn't anything like 30 years ago but Greg_J is obviously right when he says the Dutch are traditionally our big rivals and not England. Some heated games happened there

Something makes me feel like thats actually never going to happen to the Germans, the Germans have had plenty of talentless garbage teams on paper in the past but still manage to not only qualify but make deep runs.
And I dont think they are going to field any teams as weak as they have in the past for the forseeable future (and then some)

In Spain is easy, most big team supporters hate Real Madrid (Barcelona, Atleti, Athletic, Sevilla, Valencia) xDD
More serioulsy, I think the biggest and most intense rivalry in Spain is Sevilla-Betis. A city of almost a million inhabitants where every citizen is from one of the two teams. Both with big stadiums (+40.000), awesome supporters (Betis has still more supporters than Sevilla, despite the hard times). When the Seville derby is played, people in the city only talk about it the next weeks.
At the national level, I don't think Spain has a rival. Spain underperformed a lot for decades, Portugal was not big neither. Maybe Italy is the closest thing to a respected rival.

Wouldn't say there's a rivalry, but Portugal x Netherlands and Portugal x England are particularly exciting. I actually hate the Dutch NT ever since the battle of Nuremberg in 2006. Maybe now Portugal x France has a new meaning but until last year it was just pretty lopsided.
