Since demolishing the Patriots on MNF in 2014, here's the primetime games the Chiefs have played:

- TNF vs. Raiders in 2014, ugly loss (Raiders first win of the season) that ended up keeping the Chiefs out of the playoffs. Was the last game before we lost Berry to cancer
- TNF vs. Broncos in 2015. Peyton leads a drive to tie it up with very little time left, Jamaal Charles fumbles the ball on a draw play, Broncos pick it up and return it for a TD, winning the game
- MNF vs. Packers in 2015, an absolute blowout
- Tonight

My conclusion is that winning that game cursed the Chiefs

I have Melvin Gordon and T. Benjamin on my fantasy team and their fumbles distressed me at a deep personal level. I can't imagine what the coach and owner of the actual chargers must feel like... A very Chargers/Lions way to go out...

not gonna lie its games like today when Patriots fans freak out and act like the sky is falling after losing a game with a injured long term project rookie third string qb while going 3-1 after the greatest qb of all time got suspend over butthurt from awful teams for 4 games makes me realize how spoiled I am to be a Boston sports fan

for baseball, boston has earned the right to be spoiled.

what a shocking event: Cam Newton has a concussion. i agreed with many observers who speculated Newton was concussed in week 1. what anyone believes is true does not matter. The PR spin does not matter. Reality has taken over. Once you have one concussion its easier to get another one.

i wonder if he'll alter his style of play to lower his risk in the future or at least do a baseball slide when near the goal line. Its not like his resistance to concussions will improve... if anything he is more vulnerable.

The officials need to call some of these hits too. They're clearly treating bigger and more mobile qbs differently. Sucks for Cam that he is both. If Brady or Manning (before he retired) get breathed on, it's an automatic penalty.

There is nothing close to a penalty in the above gif. The calls on Brady and Manning would be in the pocket. Cam is taking a lot of these hits on the move and outside of the pocket.

yeah you only get a penalty vs a runner if it was a defenseless player and you get the head or if you use hte crown on your helmet

I think some sort of rule change is in order relative to the in-the-pocket/out-of-the-pocket distinction on QB hits, particularly as mobile quarterbacks become more and more prominent. Nevertheless, to andrewIt's point, Manning and Brady got calls in their favor even when outside the pocket; if Brady takes the hit shown in the above gif, you better believe officials are gonna call something.

if out of the pocket but behidn the line and throwing, yeah. if they're running as in that play I really doubt they'd get that call, esp at the goalline.
