When do you know to increase weight? I do dumbbell bench press and am doing 3x8 + some extra reps at the end. I hadn't lifted in like a week, though. Should I increase the weight or go another week?

You want to drink maybe an extra half a liter of water a day with it if you're taking 5g (4 liters going up to 4.5), and in most people it only means an extra rep or maybe two, not "insanely effective." Depends what you're lifting for and what place that exercise has in your routine. Side note, if you dont know the answer to this question you shouldn't be making your own routine, and if you're using a routine made by someone else that doesn't explicitly answer this question for you, that person also has no business making routines.

next week i'll switch to having it in the morning before work which is a bit annoying but looks like a necessity as for insane effectiveness, i noticed it with bench press like crazy, i was pounding out reps with greatly reduced resting requirement, it took me by surprise. it might also be that i've been adhering to very high protein intake but i def felt like i was doing a lot more than i should have been able to. (reducing a base resting requirement from 3 minutes to 2m40 is quite a big swing when you're sitting there watching the clock tick around, and pounding out 10 reps when you expected to be capable of no more than 8 is always shocking) wai gril no love me ;

i swear to god creatine increases my performance to the point of being dangerous, even my heart pain came back half way thru when i dared to put the speed up for a few seconds (nb i know its "heart pain" coz i can distinguish it and recognise it from way back 3 years ago (and on other occaisions of course) when i started running and got it pretty often) and it (creatine) dehydrates me to an equal level i had it in the morning yesterday and almost got a headache by midday and pissed twice at work for ages (pre creatine i never pissed at work once let alone twice). on the other hand i only woke up at 6am? this morning which is an improvement. so yeah i'm basically convinced also i'm pretty much proved i got a slipped disc of some sort (if you remember ive had back problems for like 4 years now just i gave up talking about it. i would lie on my laptop sometimes in bed just to get a hard surface under me and 2 weeks ago it smashed the screen ![]() anyway the proof came when i'm doing dragonflags on a bench, the movement of putting my legs down puts a lot of pressure and movement on my back , and the last 2 weeks its been causing a part of my back to painfully slip during this movement. the same part that i always need to click back into place on my laptop+some duvet to poke into it. so slipped disc or slippable back is confirmed. on the other hand it made me go try dragonflags on the mats instead of on a bench, and i was super lucky that this gym has a pillar you can hold onto behind your head, so i could do PROPER dragonflags for a change and it was awesome AND (crucially) my back wasn't slipping from that . also i cant do dragonflags obviously but i try anyway thats gym news i also ordered a sick microphone so maybe you can hear me singing (REALLY BADLY) friday night lol. also i done 1 FULL form pullup today no problem yay :/

Neither headaches, increased pissing, or heart pain would result as of normal use of creatine. Extreme dosing of creatine can cause stomach cramps and diarrhea, normal dosing causes pretty much 0 side effects. Creatine can sometimes provide slight stimulant effect (likely placebo).

In training you're going to want to be working more in the 70-85% range, just like you are in weightlifting, with occasional higher intensity efforts. If you genuinely think you're getting heart pain as a result of running you need to see a doctor and get a referral to a cardiologist for a stress test NOW. Like call out of work today and go sit in your primary doc's office all day if you have to until he sees you. If you're drinking a ridiculous amount it could be causing headaches due to ion (esp. sodium) depletion, but that's incredibly unlikely. What's more likely is that this is all a placebo because creatine is very extensively tested and there are no studies that say a reasonable (5-15g depending on bodyweight) dose does even a quarter of the things you're ascribing to it.

the heart thing is a reasonably distinct mild pain i get if i havent ran/gym for ages and try to push myself. if i go to a gp they will say "maybe u shudnt have smoked and alcoholed for the past 15 years" and "don't overdo it". it goes away after a few sessions as i become fitter (note: i can't "push through it", i always slow down and sometimes outright stop if it doesn't start to fade away), i was just remarking that i had pushed myself SO hard that it came on again the other day. i mean i was having isolated heart palpatations on a daily basis, cramps in my calfs, almost fainting after deadlifts, the list goes on, its not surprising that my heart/cardio system is fucked. what am i supposed to do about it? no one is going to listen to a 30 year old who just ran 5km in under 30 minutes, fuck they wouldnt even let me get an xray for my back last time i approached them about it and i was basically crying in the womans fucking office (i did get an xray for my lungs tho last yr after i burnt my lung on weed and wanted to check it wasnt cancer causing the pain and got a really nice doctor and also almost passed out randomly and called an ambulance which i guess helped (they said it must have been an anxiety attack). the point is im fucked and i know it, i just gotta exercise and nutrition and the improvements are monumental so long as i keep it up if you really think i shud ask a gp about it (which you do) i will go ahead and msg my gp friends tonight On February 25 2016 01:44 phyre112 wrote: That's not an efficient way to run a race. I increase weight everytime I manage to do all my reps "clean". For example benchpress my aim is to do 5x5 reps. When I realize that I can't lift anymore or my technique gets messed up I stop and try again next work out. As soon as I manage to get clean 5x5 reps I increase weight. So when you manage to do your 3x8 you should probably increase weight.
