Personally I love that they Pats have lived up to their Evil Empire reputation. Everyone needs a villain to love/hate!

They needed to get a lot of details in there to answer a bunch of the questions like the ones asked in that Grantland piece put up, because the story literally sounds like some super silly complete non-issue if you don't hear everything about it and realize that something sketchy really did happen(pending the league confirmation of the report via their own investigation that is). Also I think it being the Pats(repeat offenders of sorts) makes it a bigger deal. It's kind of like how a random PED pop is mostly a non-story, but if it's a multiple offender or someone with a team that's had a good number of them(Seattle?) it makes some decent waves. All that said, it shouldn't be lead material of every show on every network, this is a sexy Super Bowl matchup, should be tons to talk about without this needing to take up massive segments and airtime.

It's not like the NFL can't afford to supply them independently lol. i think it's just tradition from the early days when there were no leagues or only regional ones and there was very little money in "professional" football, colleges were where big-money football was being played. so if someone on the teams didn't provide balls there'd be no game.

The fact of the matter is that Tom Brady is phenomenal whether he's throwing a 13.5 PSI ball or a 10.5 PSI ball. And that they ran away with the game in the second half, after the balls were adjusted to the proper levels, only proves the point. We're not talking about that chump at USC that was having the balls deflated because his girly hands couldn't grip the ball well enough, and once they were properly inflated he couldn't throw anymore. We're talking about Tom fucking Brady. Maybe it's helping them not fumble the ball (this was brought up on the radio. The Vikings who were caught warming the footballs up, and the Patriots who were caught deflating the balls, fumbled the least of any teams in the league), or maybe their guys don't dangle the ball out to get it punched out as often. Most of the fumbles I see occur are because of poor ball security. The runner is flailing around like an idiot, or he's got the ball down near his hip instead of up at his chest where it belongs. And Belicheck doesn't put up with guys fucking up, so if they're out there fumbling a bunch of times, they're not playing anymore. It's fucking dumb and people should get over it. I know there has to be some sort of penalty here, but it's really not that serious. Maybe like a 3rd round pick over this to show that cheating, regardless of how minor the infraction, won't be tolerated. I agree with the one guy saying it's the intent to cheat that's really the problem here. But to the guy who said something about another Super Bowl with an asterisk (might have been the same guy), are you serious? Firstly, it's not that big of a deal. Secondly, "enjoy your fourth Super Bowl" is a ridiculous thing to say when they still need to beat one of the best teams we've seen in the last 15 years. And keep in mind that this is coming from a guy that wants that team to never win another game. I was the guy to say both of those and yes I was completely serious (as already stated before). 1) If it isn't a big deal, why do it? You are cheating - it is extremely valid for anyone to question the legitimacy of any of your results in the past as well as in the future. Why run that risk for something that won't give you an advantage? 2) Whilst it most likely didn't have an impact in the game they got caught, we don't know for how long they have been doing this - the week prior they played an extremely tight 35-31 game against the Ravens. There are really two possibilities: It has either been an ongoing thing or the NE Pats are egregiously terrible at cheating since they get caught every time. Following that line of thought the question remains: Have they been cheating in other ways that simply hasn't been discovered yet? And of course they still have to win against Seattle, my point wasn't to give the NE Pats the victory, my point was that a great deal of people this will once again wonder if the NE Pats can actually win the big one without cheating - and in what way they are cheating for any future results. This is the damning thing about being a cheater - it not only raises questions about all your prior accomplishments, it also haunts you in the future. We have the very same examples in SC with maphackers who are never really forgiven.

While the Rams are playing things close to the vest, staff from teams all around the league believe the Rams are moving back to Los Angeles in the near future. There are rumors that the organization is telling staffers they may want to hold off on buying homes in the St. Louis area in case a move to Los Angeles becomes a reality.

I love the how the media portrays the patriots as the big bad evil empire throughout this whole ordeal. Can't wait to roflstomp the seahawks. If we do and most likely we will because of this stupid overblown shitstorm this win will make it so much sweeter for all the pats fans across the world. I love how other shitty teams like the colts and ravens blames the football instead of themselves. It just shows what a bunch of classless team they are. Difference between us and them we don't need to make excuses after losing. The 4:00pm press conference today will be Brady. Willing to be all my money it was him and it was a personal preference and that's what most qb's do. Also to the morons here thinking these football even had some major advantage look at the scoreboard during the deflated football and after. The score was 14-7 during the deflated and after the 1st half against the colts they went back to corrected footballs and the score was 28-0. Thats all I need to say.

It was a colt's player who tipped off his god damn coach after the Brady's interception. If they didn't blame it for why they lost why the fuck is this all big of a deal? That's my fucking question because they think it did. No matter what the pats say or do it's too fucking late this will be always in the minds of stupid uneducated football fans because of these worthless media making a big deal of it and classless teams like the colts and ravens because their tired of getting ass raped each time they play them using stupid excuses like this to take down the patriots because they fucking hate them. Whats the best way to take down an this organization tell everyone they cheated again. The coaches at the Senior bowl are all saying this is overblown because why I'm willing to be my fucking life that almost every QB in the NFL does this in some kind of way.

You're really worked up about this. Yeah, it's overblown, there's not much to cover in the weeks leading up to the Superbowl. And yeah, the Colts would have still gotten killed even with regulation footballs. But it's still cheating. They subverted the rules in order to obtain a tangible advantage, no matter how small it ended up being. And the margin of victory in the Baltimore game was close enough that people aren't entirely crazy when they ask all the "What if?" questions. You're being an overly defensive homer and it's showing. Calling the Colts and Ravens "classless" because they called out the Patriots for cheating is a little strange. There is probably one reason or another to call every team in the league "classless," but trying to out cheating behavior is not one of them. The fact that this keeps happening to the Patriots will continue to haunt them for as long as Belichick is around. He obviously doesn't care, but if Patriot fans like yourself want to avoid getting "victimized by the worthless media and classless team's fans," maybe you should get a coach that doesn't bend the rules every chance he gets to eke out minor advantages.

But it would be awesome. its an entertaining theory. but, in his press conference he has placed Brady under the microscope and Brady must now do an unscheduled media session. if he planned this from the start then he would not have folded under the media pressure and caused his QB to do more media work than previously planned.
