Elway is turning the Broncos into something resembling the Raiders... and I love it.

i do think manning's series of one and outs in the playoffs says something though. the system is good when it's running but it seems more brittle than what brady runs. but as i said, give manning a randy moss and he could be a much better playoff qb

So I'm not sure why that his career numbers get dismissed as negligible. They're close, but it says something that Brady is behind him in virtually everything except for playoff record. And frankly, attaching W-L to a position is dumb as hell, and a horrible way to measure a player's skill. As is placing a higher emphasis on stats in playoff games. 250+ regular season games give a much clearer picture about a player's career than 20 odd playoff games. I don't find it absurd but that's fine. 2 completions %points and 17 more yds/game is negligible to me. Along with the fact that one throws a TD every 18 pass attempts and the other every 17 (they both avg a TD every 11 completions). Both divisions suck pretty much every year, so you could argue playoff game numbers should matter because those are supposed to be the best teams and they often played the same teams from year to year. Arguing about it just becomes ridiculous the more you look at it because they are so close to each other in every category. They both primarily played with a bunch of #2 WR's and made some mediocre talent look great (austin collie, deion branch). I always think back to the HOF wr thing and then the fact that Brady has 5 super bowl appearances to Mannings 2. Is that fair? Probably not, but look at Elway vs Marino and tell me it doesn't affect how people view it.

He was a nobody until Manning came to town, and all the sudden he's a hot commodity even though Manning ran the same offense he has ran his whole career. I'm also not big on Tomsula or Fangio either. They're just eh. They're coaching you hire after you can a mediocre coach and want to see if they have HC ability. They're not good options when you just canned a top coach who completely turned around a franchise that had been shit for the past decade
