edit: damn, Pande took my joke.

Damn. Seems like doomsday for Southampton.
That's why FM is unrealistic. Small clubs can build good squads and finish high in the table. But unlike in FM, they never get to hold their players when the big clubs come to poach them

People will stop buying the game if it's actually like real world football, but maybe making it harder to keep players wanted by other clubs or at least have their performance suffer would be more realistic. Atletico did happen though and they had a pretty FM like season.

96, it was their second string basically (their first eleven outside of van der sar were all injured) and still it required uefa refereeing for juventus to win the champion's league.

France beat Norway 4-0 last night, which is good because not so long ago we'd have had a bad 0-0.

It's kind of immersion breaking too though. But it's probably my own fault for looking at too many stories where people take some Conference team up to the Premier League and win the CL by 2020.

Not too happy with the overall performance from some players tonight but I felt like the subs played hard to make things a little more interesting for who will lock up the starting spots. Would like to see Beckerman get some time against Turkey.

The Mauricio Pochettino move is a very interesting one. If he can get Tottenham playing like a more wealthy Southampton I think the Spurs fans might be quite happy. But the reservations expressed here about the people with the power having unreasonable expectations is definitely a risk. It might just not be realistic for Tottenham to reach the Champions League this next season and will Pochettino be able to keep his job if he does a really good job but still doesn't make it. I think they will need a couple of the big 5 to have a pretty bad season (I'm including yanited in that).
Poor Southampton look like they are going to be completely gutted for parts at the moment.
Also Sky seem to keep forgetting that Southampton is in England and talking about Pochettino as if he's a brand new manager never played in England before.

Sure but they'll be rich after. If they're smart about transfers they'll survive.

Yeah it was ridiculous. One of the best generations of Dutch football players as well. They should've won euro 2000 :/

Hahaha, paper this morning mentioned van Gaal is planning to move Clasie and Martins Indi (both on the WC squad) to United this summer. That will ensure they end up on the 'right' side of the table.
