Yeah Dos Santos should work him over, but he always has the strikers chance
Khabib Nurmagomedov... this guy is going to get cut. I think even if he wins... this guy needs to be cut. He's over weight by 3.5 lbs and he shoves his opponent at a weigh in. He's just asking to get cut.
There are a few spots that have great value on this card. I feel it will be profitable.
There was a prop on Jeremy Stephens, -750 anything but submission. To imply that Jeremy gets the submission 12% of the time is utter madness. If you go through footage of his fights you will see that he shows no submission intent, his strategy is to simply fight standing up, and if the opportunity arises, he will attempt to finish a fight with strikes. This is without mentioning his opponent, who is a beast! He has a great left hook, which he times incredibly well. A great jab which he will use throughout the fight. Most importantly he has great TDD and sprawls. He won't be put in the situation to get submitted, and if he does, as mentioned above, Jeremy will simply elect to throw heat.
There is value in Stephen Thompson. I would cap him at about -275.
Gray Maynard should do well against T.J. T.J statistically has incredibly poor TDD. Gray will "Bully" his way to another title shot.
Nurmagomedov vs Trujillo is interesting. Nurmagomedov is very wild and doesn't seem to know wtf he is doing on the feet. If Trujillo can time his wild-style with uppercuts/straights he will be vulnerable. Trujillo has great defensive wrestling. He won't be put on the mat by Nurmagomedov.
I'm pumped for the fights tonight. This card is STACKED!

It felt like I was watching someone get bludgeoned to death. Each time cain punched/elbowed silva his head would bounce off the mat and more blood would fly everywhere. It was one of only a handful of fights that actually made me feel uneasy.
/me hastily hunts a download
make sure you get an HD version. While it wasn't the most bloody fight, it was just savage brutality. Cain pounded on his face mercilessly. I can still hear crack sounds of the big elbows and see the blood spots on the mat as his head bounced around. I think that was the most accurate representation of someone being beaten to death in the cage.
sakuraba vs arona was pretty bad too.
A lot of it had to do with how BF got a really nasty cut early on though. He could not see for most of the fight and if this goes in the later rounds BF has a real chance (outside of a lucky strike). Velasquez is often portrayed as this cardio machine that will not get tired but that is simply not true. The longer the fight goes on the worse his defense gets and the size of BF means that even if he is tired he can still knock you out with a single decent shot. Also if CV gets sloppy with his takedowns and lands on the bottom he will be in for a really rough night. He is still the favorite of course but this is way more interesting than Mir/Santos or Cormier/Mir. Also it would just be awesome if both BF and Hunt won just because it would send the HW division into absolute chaos.
Yeah people over-hype the Cain 'beatdown' to be honest. Once that cut had set in (which didnt take long) - Bigfoot was just getting smashed because he wasnt able to defend. I don't discredit Cains win at all, but people thinking the fight is a complete mis-match will be a bit surprised - just look at Bigfoots last fight.
I've still got Cain via Decision or TKO, but Bigfoot wont be on his ass for <5 minutes until the ref stops it.
Also ive got JDS via sub over Hunt, it almost seems inevitable.
Yeah, screw cuts. Fedor would have won round 3!
I'm going with Cain by brutal G'n'P. I don't care how big Silva is, or how good his hands are...he's not going to stop the smothering wrestling game.
I hope Mark Hunt can land a big shot and get another win. He's a pretty awesome guy. JDS should, honestly, take it fairly easy. I've seen Mark Hunt make leaps and bounds on his ground game, and he always says that he does have one and he's willing to role...but I find it hard to believe it's on the same level. Who knows though, maybe he shocks the world and chokes JDS out
Turns out I'm watching this. Could somebody give me a short run down of who the favorites are and what they've done etc? Any amount of help for his UFC noob is greatly appreciated .

Well, the main event is basically a huge underdog fighting the champion with very few people giving him (Antonio Silva) much of a chance, primarily because of Cain being a great wrestler and Silva having atrocious takedown defence, which is why their first match turned out to be a literal bloodbath with Silva on the recieving end of it. But with heavyweights come massive power and you never know when someone is going to be KOd in a single shot.
The co-main event is the match for who gets the next shot at the title, it was orginally supposed to be between Alistair Overeem and Junior Dos Santos but Mark Hunt is replacing Overeem on account of a leg injury. Junior is the ex-champion who lost his belt to Cain after having won it from Cain himself, he is regarded as the best boxer in the heavyweight division and one of the best in MMA as a whole and a very well-rounded fighter overall. Mark Hunt is a veteran of K-1 (kickboxing) and Pride (old school japanese MMA organization), with some of the hardest punches in the business and a chin made of granite. He's fought the best heavyweight has to offer for the past decade but has never been seen as one of it's greatest, mainly due to a huge weakness, which is his entire wrestling and ground game. Most people are writing Hunt off completely in this fight and while he should be an underdog, I think people may be surprised by him here.
Glover Texeira vs James Te-Huna is a Light Heavyweight fight between a lower end top 10 fighter (Texeira) and a top 10-15 fighter (Te-Huna). But rankings in this case are deceptive, because this fight is much more relevant than most fringe top 10 fights. In a division starved for new challenger for it's seemingly invincible champion (Jon Jones) Texeira and Te-Huna are two up and coming fighters who despite being in their 30s are relatively new to the UFC. Texeira especially have made quite a splash racking up some impressive wins while going undefeated in the UFC so far. Te-Huna has 2 more wins in the UFC compared to Texeira but against lesser competion and didn't win as impressively in the eyes of the masses, he also has a loss in the UFC to top 5 fighter and potential title contender Alexander Gustafsson. Both are big strong LHWs with a lot of power behind their punches, the fact that they both have shown a willingness to stand and bang for extended periods of time could mean we have a barnburner to look forward to. Ultimately Glover is going in as the favorite based off of more significant wins and a BJJ black belt to back up his striking.
