God, that was horrible.
hahah yeah.
I can see JDS and Cain having a 4 and 5 aswell, but maybe one of them will end up on the downward slide.
I think JDS lost his aura of "oh fuck, why am i in the cage with this guy" when Cain showed that for 20+ minutes, the guy was mortal.
Which could lead to people going head first into a fight (someone like Hunt/Nelson) and dealing with him.
I really hate this title fight. I get why they're doing it but jesus the last time these two met it was one of, if not the most brutal beatdown in UFC history. It felt like I was watching someone get bludgeoned to death. Each time cain punched/elbowed silva his head would bounce off the mat and more blood would fly everywhere. It was one of only a handful of fights that actually made me feel uneasy.

Hard to get excited for this one, imho. I'm gonna hold out for the Silva fight. I'ma watch every fight he is in till he finally drops that record breaking winning streak.

make sure you get an HD version. While it wasn't the most bloody fight, it was just savage brutality. Cain pounded on his face mercilessly. I can still hear crack sounds of the big elbows and see the blood spots on the mat as his head bounced around. I think that was the most accurate representation of someone being beaten to death in the cage.

sakuraba vs arona was pretty bad too.
Yup, just saw. Those elbows were ungodly. And if there wasn't a referee then yeah, that's how it would go. Respect to Velasquez though, he did exactly what he needed to and no more. Pulled back instantly.
Scary to think he did that to a man with these hands:

I believe in their first staredown in UFC 146, the crowd was pretty shocked to see the size difference in Velasquez's fists and Silva's fists...

A lot of it had to do with how BF got a really nasty cut early on though. He could not see for most of the fight and if this goes in the later rounds BF has a real chance (outside of a lucky strike). Velasquez is often portrayed as this cardio machine that will not get tired but that is simply not true. The longer the fight goes on the worse his defense gets and the size of BF means that even if he is tired he can still knock you out with a single decent shot. Also if CV gets sloppy with his takedowns and lands on the bottom he will be in for a really rough night. He is still the favorite of course but this is way more interesting than Mir/Santos or Cormier/Mir. Also it would just be awesome if both BF and Hunt won just because it would send the HW division into absolute chaos.
Cain Velasquez (c) vs Antonio Silva = Cain -, hes just way to good for Silva (Knockout, first round)
Junior Dos Santos vs Mark Hunt = Hunt - Odds are in Dos Santos favor but I pick Hunt, he has a solid Chin and lethal knockout power, all it takes is one. Odds are Cigano wins, but I certainley wouldnt be suprised by a hunt knockout and its worth the gamble. (at + 325)
Glover Teixeira vs James Te-Huna = Teixeria - Hes looked super good in his last few, I cant see Te-Huna beating him (Decision)
Gray Maynard vs TJ Grant = Maynard - Should crush TJ Grant, and get the next title shot IMO. (knockout)
Donald Cerrone vs KJ Noons = Cerrone - Tougher, Cerrones Chin is sometimes suspect but he also recovers quickly, probably by decision.

Yeah people over-hype the Cain 'beatdown' to be honest. Once that cut had set in (which didnt take long) - Bigfoot was just getting smashed because he wasnt able to defend. I don't discredit Cains win at all, but people thinking the fight is a complete mis-match will be a bit surprised - just look at Bigfoots last fight.
I've still got Cain via Decision or TKO, but Bigfoot wont be on his ass for <5 minutes until the ref stops it.
Also ive got JDS via sub over Hunt, it almost seems inevitable.

I think this is what should happen, but I could see JDS ego getting the better of him thinking he can stand with Hunt. JDS might be able to stand with Hunt but it would be a terrible strategy and lower his chances at winning from like 90% to 50/50 or so. Hunt may not look the part but he is a tremendous striker with an iron chin. JDS better take Hunt seriously.

But we have really no idea how good JDS is on the ground and while Hunt is no wizard he has proven in his recent fights that he is capable of not only surviving the groundgame of the better grapplers of the division but sweeping and escaping Struves mount. JDS groundgame so far has been similar to that of Crocop in that it was effective in limiting damage and escaping but had absolutely no offense. And his offensive wrestling is an unknown, too and Hunt had good TDD last time. The only big advantage JDS has is that age has slowed Hunt down and took something out of his cardio. This is a style matchup that is really good for Hunt as JDS skillset is extremely good vs wrestlers/grapplers who couldn't take him down and fell pray to his boxing.
So hyped for this match, damn. I think JDS is going to wear Hunt down with rapid strikes but would love to see one solid haymaker from Hunt score a knockout.
