And double points at last race is a no-go anyway. I'm sorry if all you guys have been waiting for me take make a thread, but i just CBAed. This is not F1 anymore. The engines don't sound that bad, and I like that we have turbo engines in F1 again. The sound of the V8 was shitty compared to the V10's anyway. And while double points are bad, I don't see how it justifies giving up on F1. If DRS and the garbage tyres weren't reason enough for you to quit watching I don't see why double points would be, it's just one more step in the same direction. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this season, the engine will finally be a part of what makes a winning car again. But mostly I'm praying for a good season for Williams, being a fan of them hasn't been the easiest thing these last years.

It isn't F1. This season would be very good if they just removed those two things. 1) No fuel limit 2) Use tires designed to be good. I think ERS/KERS is pretty cool actually... I think it's a good design, making cars reliable and efficient should be rewarded... But not limit the speed by imposing a fuel limit or give teams shitty tires. All this efficiency stuff has been done in the name of bringing down costs, so by bringing engines down to V6, I'd imagine they are cheaper... Why not have 1 engine per race so teams can push during the race instead of always looking to the next race, but not be limited by fuel or bad tires, and then the drivers can push as hard as they physically can. If they do that as well as lower aerodynamics - which they did, as well as remove a few electronic aids, then we have some cars that take skill to drive... These cars wont likely require DRS because of higher driver skill needed, so we can actually see real passing, not just it being on a straight every single time, as well as we will see driver's pushing at 100% instead of giving them some artificial handicaps. Isn't that what we have always wanted? I suppose removal of electronic aids can be seen as a handicap, but it'd make the race more fun imo.

Because most microphones and speakers don't have the range to capture the full sound. Even the McLaren MP4-4, which is considered a monster of a car (and btw a V6 Turbo ) sounds boring the TopGear-Video on Aryton Senna where Lewis Hamilton got to drive it. But I agree on the double-points-issue, its just stupid and will not change anything. On March 05 2014 07:18 FiWiFaKi wrote: I think ERS/KERS is pretty cool actually... Because it has a tactical component: you can use it to overtake, to defend or to improve laptimes. DRS on the other hand is just a cheap-showman-accessory and a no-brainer to use. It produces more overtaking, but it doesn't solve the fundamental problem. Not sure about the fuel limit. Back in the 80s in the first tubro era their was also a fuel limit at the end, but their were also both types of engines in a race and this was probably to balance both out, but still mostly the turbos won. To me it seems also like some environmental-friendly-approach (see next paragraph). Tyres are just bad to increase the show. At one point their were tyres that lasted a whole race and build such wouldn't be a problem. The problem is that they don't go from V8 to V6 naturally aspirated but to V6 Turbo which are way more complex and very expensive to develop and tune. It would have been cheaper to just keep the old engines because they weren't be developed the last years. The whole efficiency stuff is just make F1 look "green". But it isn't and as long containers with tons of equipment are flow around the world it is not gonna happen and will just be some green color painted on a dirty rock.

Red Bull - Vettel > Ricciardo. Everyone expects this and there will not be a shock. Constructor: 3rd, an average second driver and reliability will cost them. Mercedes - Hamilton > Rosberg. I expect the issues with braking should be solved this year for Lewis and he should beat Nico again. Constructor: Champions, very strong line-up and apparently a very strong car. Ferrari - Alonso > Kimi. Unlike most I expect Alonso to crush Kimi much like Massa without a problem. Constructor: 4th, I think that this Ferrari is weak and even Alonso will struggle to get results in it. McLaren: Button > Magnusson. Very tough call but in the end I think Jenson's consistency will trump (what I think will be) Kevin's superior speed. Constructor: 2nd, I am very hopeful for my favourite team this year. Force India - Hulkenberg > Perez. Nobody can stop the Hulk!!!! Constructor: 6th, despite a ridiculously strong line-up for a midfield team I think a mediocre year is in store for FI. Williams - Bottas > Massa. Massa is strong when he is in form and confident but I get the feeling Bottas will shine this year. Constructor: 5th, this car looks really good and I hope they can mix it at the front but I suspect the drivers are not in the same league as the best teams and therefore a podium or two will be a success. Fingers crossed though. Sauber - Sutil > Gutierrez. The least exciting line-up they could pick but Sutil should have the edge on Esteban. Constructor: 7th, I still feel they will have a better car than Red Bull mark II. Torro Rosso - Vergne > Kvyat. Very tough to call as I don't really know what to expect from Kvyat but he is very highly rated by RB. Some things just make me go "WOW" with Jev though, he has something special just needs consistency. Constructor: 8th, best of the rest but not in the shitbag league.

"I think the 107 per cent rule was introduced to make sure that teams that weren't capable of producing a good car that was of the required performance wouldn't actually get into the races," said Whiting "What we have out here at the moment are 11 teams that we know are capable. They may be suffering a temporary performance loss but I'm sure the stewards will look very sympathetically on any team that doesn't make the 107 per cent. Mr Charlie Whiting. AKA "We had fine engine rules, we decided to change them and it's going to be crap for a number of races until the FIA has to step in to fix the problem they created".

The only thing i'm interested in is how many cars will finish the first race. What a joke.
