Come on guys. Sort it out! I think the pace is in the car, after all he was on the front row last week and his Q2 time was good enough for P4 at this race.

Man Mercedes have HUGE problems in normal (hot) race temperatures. Tyres are just disappearing and causing a pole setting lap from Rosberg to start and lead for the first 2 laps to the end up finishing 9th....Thats so bad. They really need to sort that out by the time they hit Spain to have a chance of finishing top 3 constructors and get a driver in the top 3 as well. I didn't think it was that much of a problem, but it clearly is worst than i personally expected it to be. Spain in 3 weeks time is going to prove whether or not Mercedes can mount a challenge this year, as at the moment they will only be competitive in rain effective Grand Prix's or races with freak cool weather (like Aussie start)

Soooo....
Catalunya + RB with these softer tires. Anyone else think it's going to be a disaster?

As excited as ever for Monaco this year too

Hoping Webber does better in these upcoming races- if only he can work out his launch issues--and his teammate doesn't cheat him out of a victory. (Webber tuned his engine down as he was instructed and Seb. passed him as a result)

I hope that tire wear causes huge problems and we get a crazy race like '97

So with Barcelona right around the corner a few updates are in order after the three week break.
James Allison (technical director) has left Lotus and has been replaced by Nick Chester. I think the job James has done is amazing because they don't have the same budget yet compete well vrs the big teams. Pirelli have announced an extra set of tyres are available to the drivers from this weekend onwards. This is to encourage the guys to go out on track more on Fridays. The FIA are looking at implementing a penalty points system instead of the current format. This would mean drivers are given a certain amount of points per incident and after a set amount receive a race ban. Mercedes have confirmed that they will remain in F1 provided they are a top team, which doesn't seem to be the case yet. I assume 2014 is a year of review for Daimler. Robert Kubica is working with Mercedes at the factory, using the simulator. He may be given a 2 year+ old F1 car for some on track running too. I am sure we all wish him well with this.
Hopefully we won't have the usual dull race at Barcelona this year, but I suspect we will. For me the interesting thing will be seeing the teams' Euro-upgrade that is so crucial for the success of the car over the year. McLaren will hope to solve the issues they have, Mercedes will hope to improve race pace. How will the Lotus, Ferrari and RB upgrades go too? One team could really step up as the leader this weekend. Personally I just hope it isn't RB.

That Q2 time by Hamilton. Yikes.

It was all that last sector, banged in a 27.7 which was half a second faster than most guys! Only one set of tyres for Q3 now though.

Rosberg very fast as well, come on Mercedes 1,2!

Great job Nico, well done. Based on what happened Friday though I think this is Kimi's race to lose.
