Ok thought experiment. What would your ideal meal look like if taste, cost, and preparation were not an issue and your only goal is to have the most nutritious meal possible? You could take this out to the whole day if you wanted.

Morning:
Rump steak with pan eggs, onions and baked potatoes.
Drink: Coca Cola

Lunch:
Tenderloin steak with sauce pepper sauce onions and french fries and a salad
Drink: Coca Cola

Dinner:
Rump Steak on bread with herb butter, boiled potatoes and a salad
Drink: Coca Cola

In between:
Potatoes au gratin with gouda cheese and butter on the site
Drink: you know

Strawberry cake
Rhubarb cake
Stollen
Drink: hot chocolate, sparkling water

Probably around 8000kcal or so, it would be glorious.

Erm... Did you miss the 'nutritious' part of that?
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

Hahaha I still liked it though. I was going for like the most emotionally-detached logical meal(s) possible for the best nutrition but I'm enjoying this as well

Malinor, is it safe to wager your a steak-and-potato kinda guy? XD

probably just a shitload of eggs,tuna,broccoli,mackerel and various nuts - i like all of these and i would eat them all the time every day if i wouldnt get sick of it and if heavy metals and stuff like that were not an issue

See, for an individual meal, you're all doing it wrong. With the prep time not being an issue bit of it, clearly the correct answer is brisket, smoked for 12-14 hours. Wrapped in bacon. With a nice tangy sauce.

Damn that sounds good

I'd like some nice baby back ribs or something as another meal too..... and some steak would be great as well.

With a nice bourbon glaze for the ribs, and peppercorn for the steak... damn, this is the wrong conversation to have when I need to hold off on dinner until after TKD.

New GMO Study
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=371657

it's weird to start another discussion on this topic since there's already one in general, but i wanted to hear the thoughts of TLHF, since you guys are more knowledgeable about nutrition and health. so what do you guys think? seems like the OP summed it up pretty nicely, but it'd be nice to get some more input.

most of us don't care about corn, since a lot of us are eating paleo anyway. but the implications of the study are that other types of GMO can have adverse health effects too.

for me, i'll just keep buying what i normally buy at the grocery store. can't really afford the non-GMO stuff. if there was a study that showed for certain that there are negative health effects, then i'd change. but for now, the cost difference is not worth the chance of benefit.

edit - nevermind, i guess. pretty much everyone agrees that the study sucked ass.

There isn't much places with sweet potato fries in NJ. Plus I hate going out to eat since I am allergic to everything lol.

@ieatkids I won't touch gmo food. I usually just buy stuff from farmers markets.

Make some apple mash and mix with cooked oats.

One of my absolute favorite dishes:

Pork chops with apples and onions

Apples are always a good match with pork especially around the time of the year when apples are available locally and fresh. When simple pork chops served with a side of vegetables doesn’t cut it anymore, this recipe will remind you of the deliciousness of savory pork and sweet apples.

Ingredients

Pork chops and apples4 bone-in pork chops, with the trimmings;
3 tbsp lard, butter, ghee or coconut oil;
2 large onion, sliced;
4 sliced and cored apples;
Salt and pepper to taste;

Preparation

Heat a large pan over a medium-high heat. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper to taste.
Melt 2 tbsp of the cooking fat and fry the chops, about 5 minutes on each side, until well cooked and browned;
Set the pork chops aside, reduce the heat to medium-low, add the other tbsp of cooking fat and add the onion and apple slices;
Cook for about 4 minutes, until the onions have caramelized and the apple slices are slightly soft.
Serve the chops with the topping of apple and onions.

Extremely simple to prepare and sooooo delicious. From http://paleodietlifestyle.com/quick-paleo-meals/

rEiGN~ and zatic, those look defuckinglicious. i'll look up applemash (or do i just mash up them apples?) and oats, cuz that looks like it would be an amazing post-workout snack. and i'll definitely make some porkchops. that recipe looks simple, without too much prep work, so i gotta try that out.

will let you guys know what i think.

I've done it before once and basically you just slice the apples and remove the inedible parts, seeds and whatnot. Then put the slices in a kettle and add some water, but not so much that all the apple is covered. You can add more water later to adjust the make-up of the mash so it's better to start with little water.

I just found out this section on teamliquid.
I'd love to make food plans for starting strength trainers, or evaluate more advanced lifters and their food plans.
I currently have 6 years of advanced anatomy, strength training, nutrition and hormonal experiences ;-) I could throw a thing or two at you guys, I think. If anyone wants advice or is interested, hit me up (PM or in this thread) and I'll answer asap!

I'm currently on a 4700-5000kcal diet, eating 600g of carbs, 350g of proteins and 120-130g of fat a day.
Why so high in carbs you ask? I am a hard gainer, when I eat anything below 3500-3700kcal, I start losing weight.

A little over 90kgs (200LBS)
But back when I weighed 66kg (~145LBS), I also had to eat 4000+kcal to gain any type of weight.
It's the metabolism ;-).
I have ectomorphic traits though, Long legs, long arms, short upper body, small skeleton.. I'm like 70% ectomorphic and 30% mesomorphic by the looks of my composition. I stay very lean but wasn't all that super skinny before I started working out, and I gain weight at a decent pace once I eat enough.

followed your recipe, though i modified it just a bit. excuse my shitty cellphone camera:

2 pork chops under the onions and apples, with a side of veggies (cabbage and bokchoy).. the texture would have been better if the apples i used were more crunchy, but it was delicious nonetheless.
i ended up using no salt, and a bit of pepper for the apples and onions, but i also topped it off with some almonds to make things interesting. this was my first time stirfrying apples, and i love it. thanks for the dish
