And my god are those prices cheap, at the local pharmacy 160caps of fish oil is 600DKK, on that site it is one seventh the price. | ||

Personally, I would suggest you read the general training thread and see if doing something like startign strength is possible for you. With bodyfat as low as yours, you'll probably see a change in your physique very quickly if you follow a proper training program and bulk up a tiny bit. | ||

I've started playing a lot more basketball recently; is there any significant difference between recovering from weight training as opposed to intense basketball practice? I.e. is there anything other than sufficient sleep and food that would allow me to recover more optimally from basketball? I'm comfortable with the feeling of muscle damage/repair that happens with heavy lifting, but my joints take much more of a pounding with basketball, and I'm worried about long-term consequences. | ||

I can't remember exactly what I weighed when I was 13, but I assume it was a good 20% less than my adult weight. Depending on what you weigh, you should be able to reach your protein goals fairly easily with just normal meals and maybe some extra milk a day. Whey protein is also good for teens because it contains branched-chain amino acids, which are special because they are absorbed directly by muscle tissue instead of requiring metabolism by the liver before muscle uptake. These amino acids allow teens to more easily pack on muscle mass during growth. I love my whey, and from what I can tell there's probably nothing wrong with whey for you. However, you only really need a supplement if your daily meals aren't enough (e.g. they need to be supplemented), and I'd guess that at your age the meals are probably fine. | ||
