pullups and weighted pullups are great for your upper back, much better than pulldowns. you can do bent over rows to work your upper and lower back at the same time. and of course, for your lower back and core strength, definitely do deadlifts if you're not already. I'm thinking maybe I'm just not used to exerting myself yet and it throws some of my systems out of whack. As long as I'm not getting nauseous it isn't a big deal though. it doesn't seem that serious, so i guess you could continue your workouts and runs, and see if this problem eventually goes away. on a side note, i get a lot of gas whenever i eat starchy foods with gluten in them like wheat products. not sure if this is related to your problem, but it might be something to consider.

For people running in the morning: do you eat anything between the moment you wake up and the moment you go running ? A friend of mine simply takes some energy/milky drink and hits the road I would like to have opinions and practices from the running members, i would much appreciate.

Generally for fat loss I don't think there's a significant difference but I know some people like to run on empty stomach. If you're just running for cardio feel free to eat or not eat.. doesn't really matter.

My supraspinatus tendon seems to be in a bit of pain whenever I press down on it. This pain occurs on both sides, which would make sense since I only do overhead press and bench for my shoulders. But this also makes it hard to diagnose if it actually is something I should be worried about because I can't use one side as a reference. Note that I feel no pain during the shoulder exercises and especially not when I'm just doing everyday things. I first noticed an uncomfortable sensation when I was stretching my shoulders, which led me to feel around the area around it. And it just happens that some pain occurs whenever I push down on the area, which I believe is the supraspinatus tendon. Is it normal to feel pain when pushed down with a bit of force? If not, I'm definitely going to take a break from shoulder exercises until I don't feel any pain whatsoever.

I see a lot of people just doing like a slow breaststroke for 30 mins. Thats not doing anything except taking up space in the pool ![]() On the other hand, if you at least know the basics, then i would prefer swimming as it uses a lot of different muscles. Oh, and you should consider the costs, running is free if you arent living in a concrete hellhole whille pools can be expensive. Outside of club swimming i have to pay 5 euro for 2 hours.

She would like to do exercises to strengthen her whole back and neck and arms (she already does spinning, jogging and muay thai) She is unable to do a single chin-up/pull-up and she should like to know some exercises that would help in that regard. She wants to exercises at home (she has weights, chin-up bar and a bench press). Any ideas on how to start her on the path of gaining strenght? ![]()

You should absolutely not put strength on top of dysfunction as it will only make it worse in the long run.

If you drink them at home, the first thing to do is to not bring them home (except for a special occasion). I only ever buy a bottle of soda anymore if I'm having company that I know will want it. One thing that helps is I keep a brita pitcher in my fridge, so I always have cold water to drink. I drink tons of water now.

I am trying to basically cut back on all soda (except when I go out to eat) and it's just really, really hard sometimes. Just start drinking lots of water, keep a glass of water close during the day if you spend most of the day sitting, also, afaik you get thirsty after you are dehydrated so try making the habit of drinking water when you are not really that thirsty. The need for sugar drinks will go away quickly. I used to drink a liter of coke a day and after a week or so I dont even feel the need for a glass. I still drink randomly from time to time, but water is SO MUCH BETTER. Edit: Well, assuming you don't live in a place with shitty water.

Don't keep soda at home, that's important. Definitely easier just to fight in the supermarket once than over the whole day. Don't go shopping thirsty. It just makes it harder. The urge will lessen with time.
