This is awesome. Only problem though is that being in Saskatchewan I am not really close to any of the regional final locations. Oh well, it is a good excuse for a quick trip.
I would love to go try qualifications for CF, but sadly I don't got 4 other players, being in Alberta and having school to attend, I'll have to skip out
While im happy they finally added more events than just montreal. Us folks living in the actual center of the country are still getting shafted. Toronto is not the middle of Canada. Regardless good luck to the participants.

I'm guessing central by population. Technically the middle of Canada is right by Winnipeg but population wise it really is Ontario and Quebec. 8 of the top 10 largest population areas are in Ontario (and the other 2 are in Quebec). So having it in Toronto would be a fair skew towards the larger population.
Also if you look at NASL they choice Toronto specifically because out of every city in the world Toronto has the highest viewership (by a large margin apparently) so it does make sense.

Western Canada has a larger population than Eastern as of the last census, but that is aside from the point. If they were set on 3 locations I don't see why it couldn't have been Calgary or Edmonton instead of BC. Its somewhat frustrating as an Alberta player to know that at the minimum to fly to any of these 3 areas its minimum 600round trip + a place to stay food etc.
I do not play competitively anymore, but I can say that in the past when I was competitive in war3 C&C and other games featured at WCG, the cost has been prohibitive to fly out east, and honestly Van costs even more so that doesn't help things at all. I understand the reasons for doing what they have done, its just frustrating.
The Toronto vs Canada thing is something that goes way beyond Sc2, don't take it personally.
Yes and make sure all of the personal information fields are accurate as you will not be eligible for prize/qualification for the national final if they aren’t.
I LOVE it when I hear about Canadian Esports. That's what makes me smile every morning when I wake up and eat my cereal (OK maybe not but you get the idea). Canada should be as active as possible in the Esports world and I think sending 11 internationally skilled Canadians is a great step.
I need to have a good look at the map, cause montreal isnt exactly eastern canada. This tourney has a really bad history, be prepared for disappointment :[
There is a space at the Eaton Centre where it will be set up, yes it is a Live event, running from the 19th to the 21st of October.
You're certainly welcome to come spectate, there's no tickets or passes required to watch at any of the venues.
There is also still time to sign up for the events if you have not yet on the WCGCanada website, http://www.wcgcanada.net/
Just sign up and indicate which location you'd like to attend, and you don't have to be a GM or anything like that either. Its a great chance to come watch and meet pros and top level amateurs who might be named Wasif in your area so check it out.
