There are maybe 20 interesting minutes of content at most in a 40m game, and they're spread into 120 different 10s chunks all over the map, often at the same time. The big tourney last week almost pulled it off, but they had screen in screen all over the place and what seemed like 15 observers and an entire production crew just for obsing, and still missed half of it in the more chaotic phases. Makes me think of Shack Tactical's videos. They're basically a private group designing and hosting their own Arma 3 missions, and uploading highlights on youtube. You've got 15 minutes videos with 2/3rd of action top, and that's out of an almost 2 hours play session or something like that. Good mission planning and a decent AI make for very cinematic and memorable moments though, but they're few gems in long periods of walking / inactivity / radioing instructions. I also remember that one time a channel (GomTV?) tried to broadcast World of Tanks clan wars. 15 minutes rounds, camping until the last 2 minutes when parts of both teams try to rush each other to gain a lead. Commentators were bored to death.

Because of the above issues, it does a good job of incentivizing people to get as many points as they can even if they're going to lose the game. Also, Swiss does a better job of making sure the best player wins the tournament than single or double elimination do? Isn't that the main point of it? It gets close to round robin without needing near as many games to be played. The problem with points systems is then you don't have much tension in a lot of the matches. None of the games really feel like they "matter" until the last few rounds, and by that point the tournament is often decided. Nothing worse than a final day where the games literally don't matter. Double Elimination Brackets have the massive advantage that half the games have someone fighting for their tournament life, which makes generating interest so much easier, and the last few matches are the ones which decide the winner, which makes them the most exciting of all. Esports is different from a lot of club/hobby sports, in that it's all marketing/spectacle for viewers at home. The local chess club can play swiss or all vs all groups, because the main goal is for the players to have fun, so systems which maximise games and fairness are better. For events based around viewership (see world cups or esports or whatever) then they always have an elimination playoff season at the very least, because that's what gets people watching.

I've read the basics on the differences between all three but I'm just not sure exactly how much of a visual improvement trivex is over poly or what the real risk would be if I walked into a tree branch while wearing a CR-39 lense.

![]() My little Lexa just stopped some thugs from getting in my car. I had my car parked in front of my fence, was home for lunch. Two kids 17 or so walk by start looking at it. Lexa was in the yard. She didn't do anything. Then one opened the door and she jumped on the fence and snarled / barked at them. Never seen someone run so fast before. Man's best friend. <3 and I didn't even need to put down my pizza. Or lock my car door... I should probably lock my car door.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Stellaris/comments/858spt/yet_another_science_nexus_rush/ I didn't even realize it might be until I was responding to the person asking the dumb "Why aren't you going Spiritualist in a Tech rush strategy?" question, then I saw the reddit handle.
