Does this make me too pedestrian for Cheep and LT? I think it's fine. With suits, it's whatever you look good in, though it would be preferable if you had pants that matched the gray suit. If it works it works. Differs from place to place. Cheep doesn't wear black apparently, while black is one of the more popular suit colors where I live. Also, depends on how you look. In general, black suits are great if you have high contrast (aka, dark hair, white skin; a bright blue suit also works), and are horrendous if you have low contrast (light hair color, like light blonde hair, light skin [stick with lighter, muted color suits]). If you're in between that and have a medium contrast, you have room and versatility to work with (as I have black hair, I tend more towards high contrast and can make black work even if I'm more of a medium). http://effortlessgent.com/contrast-clothing-combinations/

Your original statement was "you don't wear navy outside of very formal occasions," and I would define "very formal occasions" as funerals, black tie events, etc. So you're saying you can't wear navy to interviews, casual outings, etc, which is what confused me. Your second post seems to contradict it...? I really should read my own posts. I meant that you shouldn't use black/navy since its bad taste. This is not to say that people don't (see euros in this thread) but its bad taste depending on where you work/which event it is people would be embarrassed for you. Sweden though seems to be more casual than the states so dress codes are different at different for different things.

OK that makes sense lol, you basically said the opposite ORZ On May 04 2015 06:19 Lord Tolkien wrote: I think it's fine. Well technically if there weren't matching pants it wouldn't be a suit, it'd be a blazer/sportcoat.

At funerals you wear black because it's somber and everyone is wearing black, but typically, if you wear a black suit at a social event, you're probably one of the few people wearing black in a sea of charcoal/navy/grey and it's quite jarring. It is a dominating color, and why you shouldn't wear it if it draws attention away from your face, and why blues are generally better for social events (and recommended, since they generally look good on everyone, and don't generally demand a white dress shirt). However, it depends on the contrast. I've got quite alot of use out of my black suit, and have no qualms about using it in interviews. The receptions I attend are generally after conferences (and a good chunk are wearing black anyways).

Full black suits are less versatile than navy/charcoal. I would only wear full black to either where dresscode is black/white or to a funeral. Having different color shoes than suit makes for more appealing combinations. ------------------------ Day 1 of Lost runs: 100+ deaths, Mom's Heart is dead. I'm having terrible luck with item room items (1x Poly and a couple Cricket's Heads, that's it). Curse room luck is bad too, Dead Cat is not dropping for me D: All in all spent more time restarting run than actual gameplay. Will get the Real Platinum God tho. I wish I could remember how many runs it took me. You'll get it eventually! Personally I reset until I can get treasure room OR curse room---Holy Mantle is just as good if not better than Dead Cat in a lot of situations. Also in other Isaac news apparently the update for the original Wrath of the Lamb just came out and people are NOT pleased.
