I think it was better than the first, biggest reason being that Ultron was better developed/built up than Loki and his Army were in the first. I love Loki as a character, but he felt shoehorned into a role that didn't quite suit him in that movie, and the Chitauri army was always kind of generic and uninteresting.

Quicksilver was unfortunately nowhere near as awesome as Days of Future Past.

Hawkeye actually had character though, so that was good.

I don't know, I didn't really like the character build up for him. It felt so unexplained why he wanted to kill the whole planet. sure the anti-superhero for world peace bit makes sense even if it has been done before, but then he just totally went off his rocker like "you took my body i was making so ill take all life" I didnt know what his motivation was the whole time. wasn't protecting humans his main "directive". also the final evil plot of lifting a mountain into the sky and dropping it so hard it wipes out the earth seems kinda lame. I thought it made sense that they switched sides against ultron when she could see into his mind and learn how evil he was. The death scene didn't make any sense at all. considering he could easily dodge bullets and used a car to block them. I liked the action tho even if it was a little over the top/hard to follow. The first fight busting into the bunker was awesome. and when they were all around the switch was pretty awesome too. The rape joke was in bad taste but I didnt even notice at the time. I didn't mind the sterile thing/dont think it was a stereotypical inserted woman problem. She was talking with bruce and he was like I can never be a father! or something so she was like yeah me too im fucked up, your not the only monster. It made sense i thought.
