Good morning people. I really hate workday Fridays, all I do is stare at the clock.
So I had a dream last night that TL LoL started an Olympic swim team. And then Roffles showed up and we were all excited for him to swim but he just sat on the side and acted all sullen because he was banned from the pool.
I need to spend less time here.

What you fail to see was how much instruction I had to be giving out the whole time =P
It should've been like a 35 minute game, but our team did the NA baron throws, and then 15 minutes later, they did too.

Has Wave cheered up? Last game we played he was almost as emo as me.
Also NaNo starts today! I hope to post the first chapter of Skitter (working title) when I get a chance.

We were 3 and I ws ahead, so all they ever did was trade between them while never ever trading with me, and the game basically devolved to RNG "Do I get these resources" and they stalled and stalled.
I mean, it wasn't boring for tem, they were trying and stuff. But for me it was converting whatever I had aplenty to whatever I lacked, which was super slow because of resource spread and noone trading with me, basically wondering "Do I try to hold the longest road/biggest army or do I keep these resources for conversion?" every third turn when I received stuff without having the bandits on my ass. (The fact that the eventual winner was the gal who was (quite) behind the whole game is nice since it shows the game allows for comebacks, but if it's at the cost of lengthy stalling and simply shutting the leader out of the game so he has almost nothing to do meanwhile is a bad mechanic imo.) you even managed to give your opinion on a board game as a whine, never change alaric. edit: how would anyone ever fight about playing catan wtf. it's the most mild competitive board game ever. The worst you can do is compete for longest road/most knights and not trade with the winner, which is needed to make it feel like you're not just all playing single player and racing to finish. edit2: nvm, alaric is still salty LOL you guys really suck at confrontation That, or you just happen to suck at reading too.
There're a bunch of board games or other games I like despite sucking at, I just don't talk about it here (when we play Hanabi it's me who makes the others rage). And I actually thought Catan wasn't confrontational enough: I like games where you have a bunch of ways to interact with the other players (part of why I'm not a fan of 7 Wonders with too many people: the mechanic of neighbours is interesting in itself, but when it means your only way of interacting with half the players is by once a turn picking a card you think they'd want if it reaches them, it makes me feel less involved), so when the stalling started the whole interaction was: - receiving the bandits - someone trying to cross the T with my road to stop me from securing that - someone playing a soldier card to try and retake the advantage
Sure, with better town placement and realising that along the coast are "reduced conversion" zones for resources I'd have lessened my troubles (I mean I'm a scrub), but when you're encouraged to avoid the only direct interaction (trade) when you want to shut down somebody it makes me sad.

it was definitely a whine about you being ahead and not being able to get a lead because you couldn't trade. Trying to make sure you get the right distribution of resources or having a long term plan to convert efficiently is part of the strategy. I guess with 3 people it's slightly too few but with 4-5-6 leads change very quickly, and trade embargo on who's winning helps that a lot. Knocking down whoever is ahead is the first step to getting you closer to victory.
Also losing to girl for shame, you have to knock their winrate down to 10% to maintain misogynistic honour
you have that French thing where anytime you aren't going to win it's "boring". (Nenyimm was the same in every lp game)

We should play Travian or something
|
My friends tried to get me into Travian. I played for a bit, but was really bad at keeping up with it.

No to travian O_o every server gets (got when I played) immediately infested with 2-3 big guilds, turned stale qujite quickly...
|
The worst thing about the forum change is that there's no longer the big "OLD POST" image under posts.

I played Ogame for a while, same thing. Those browser games tend to have that effect it seems. I also observed that with Silkroad back when I played that. Talking about grindfest...

omgomgomg guys, I'm 7-1 in arena with this amazing pally deck where only a few of my cards suck.
+ Show Spoiler [deck] +
I have so much cult master value it's coming out of my ears. Maybe I should pass on some of my trump and krip wisdom to you, soniv.
|
I like how that's a "Paladin deck" but you have like 3 pally-specific cards total lol.
It looks like you just got a shit ton of good minions and draw cards, gj.

Lol you're right. My favorite tho is the auctioneer when I only have 1 spell. Dat arena synergy.

Maybe 3 if you get coin :D

Anyone here a good singer? Are you self taught? I can play the guitar pretty well by now but my singing is mediocre and there's like no point in knowing how to play the guitar without knowing how to sing. Very few chances to impress by rocking out to a buckethead solo.

you have that French thing where anytime you aren't going to win it's "boring". (Nenyimm was the same in every lp game) Are you trolling, or just being stupid whenever I'm involved? In the former it was a bad troll (or simply not funny), the latter doesn't need no explanation I guess.
It was me being annoyed that whoever is first, can be shutdown by basically telling him "we don't want to play with you", while to keep his lead he seeks to tell them "it's fine, I can play alone". And I, personally, because of my own tastes, in this opinion I voice, dislike this kind of mechanisms, while finding the "knock-down the closest to victory if it isn't you" strategy perfectly reasonable.
It would be hard to simplify it more without speaking pidgin.
