Yeah, I recognised that, but I mean the new players won't necessarily know that "arcane shop" is "utility items", for example. I didn't mean it saying "this is bad" but "I prefer the clarity LoL's checkboxes offer". These are configurable. I have spacebar set to center on hero the way it is in LoL. It's not really fair to criticize DotA for not making the default keybindings the same as DotA when its still all configurable. Is it? My bad then, I reconfigured a bunch of space but I don't recall finding an option for this one. Also obvious advantage to DotA for letting you rebind outside of a game, but we all know Air isn't going away in the near future... Again, these are all configurable. It's not fair to criticize a game for having defaults you don't like when the configuration options are there for you to set it the way you like. Can the brightness be configured too? I changed stuff here, for example using heroes' icons instead of simply player colors, but the issues I have with map layout don't seem to be configurable (maybe you can make the heroes' icons bigger on the minimap though, my point was mainly that for a beginner it's not the visually clearer there is, it's definitely enough once you get used to it). About the graphics' thing, obviously I meant "in general" and with my own experience. Sven's stun is as telegraphed as Taric's for example, but I felt like it was an exception rather than the norm (obv. LoL as stuff like Fiddle's Terrify too). Played some more games today, with a stack this time. Shadow Fiend is so weird—definitely not my style, Shadow Graze's range and delay took a very long time to get used to (71 minutes game because we had a prophet and I'm a scrub while the enemy team defended very well according to the other guys, at least it gave me time), and the "die -> go jungle to rebuild your souls" playstyle felt a bit boring/unimplicated. I managed to fuck up a good 3-4 blink->ult by failing to estimate blink's range or missclicking, and being bad with Shadow Graze made me feel pretty useless overall early on (given our lead 3 fights actually broke out because they decided to bumrush the exposed raxes while I was jungling, which didn't help ![]() Still, after building Blink-Treads-BKB-Shadow Blade-Butterfly I ended up with ~300 aa damage. I'm still getting used to casters becoming that strong at right-clicking with enough items, esp. since apart from 2 good ults (one of them let us snipe their drow 2v5 and defend our mid raxes) I was feeling useless in teamfights since I couldn't hit grazes to save my life.

Also is it pure coincidence that Hollywood has a Mandela movie done and ready to release a few months after he dies?

Some people have criticised it for the vision it gives of traders and glorifying it and stuff but... I mean, yeah, I know it's based on a guy's life and shit, but it's obvious when you watch the film that it's intended to be a parody. o_o When I got invited to watch it I expected a somewhat serious film off of those critics I'd heard.

Had the pleasure of sitting next to a elderly (german) lady who acted like a hipster because she's been to the states a few times. During the pause she complained nonstop how the movie wasn't the same as in the book and that there's too much sex & drugs.

It's like the classic thing where you learn the simple thing in grade school, forget about it, and reality is so much more interesting.

Idris Elba had a fantastic, fantastic performance but... the movie was too disjointed and had way too many events happening; could've slowed the pace down or cut down on more events to significantly improve it. TBF they were working directly off his autobiography but eh...
