That said, I think I've gotten a bit better about being where the team needs me and where I can make the most impact, and I think my positioning in fights has improved. I also remembered to use Battleshrooms and my actives a couple times! Yay for little steps of progress! I think I'll start around the same time tonight, might play a few bots/normals to try out the new Yi. I really want to take him top/jungle, but I want to get a good feel for him first.

There are many people who run squishy top laners like Zed, Kha, or Akali. His sustain is now pretty good with W scaling with missing health, and he can clear better than AD Yi previously. I did a writeup of my thoughts here, feel free to comment on it so I don't have to rewrite the whole thing ![]()

- Losing CS while poking- vs Tryn prioritize farm, he's not leaving anytime soon - After kill, should have got E, but got second Q first. If you went E third you could have pushed the lane to the turret and denied a ton of XP from the Tryn. I prefer having Q-W-Q-E, but in that situation taking E would have been much stronger - Dorans shield is fine, but would cloth have worked better since it builds into armguard? - Tryn was ridiculously scared of you when you had nothing but an amp, boots and a dorans. A good tryn would have steamrolled you there, and hard. - If Tryn is honestly that scared of you, keep your E stacks up. You were able to consistently Q, and it's just a good habit to develop. - Try to more often read how safe you are in lane. If Sej ganks bot, stack your E and bully him. - Wow that Tryn is scaaaared - Ghost is a LOT better on vlad (unless they have someone like a Jarvan who kicks Ghost users in the balls) - On your second back you rushed Wraith Spirit, a better choice (imo) would have been revolver and then Armguard, which with a cloth start would have been an easy purchase. You would then be able to buy the wards that you werent able to before. - After Tryn left lane, you didn't stack your E consistently (even with Revolver) - When alone and pushing vs a turret as vlad, go deeper in and farm the minions behind their turret. You heal while keeping your E stacks (BUT BUY SOME WARDS DAMMIT) - On your third back (level 11) should have sold pots for more wards. It's unlikely you'll need them. - Vs Kat and Tryn, it might have been worth it to ult right before you pooled her ult, because the damage would surely have stopped any dives, and it looked like you intended to stay in lane so you wouldn't need it otherwise - STACK YOUR E BRAH YOU KEEP RUNNING OUT INTO OPEN SPACE AND IGNORING IT - Oftentimes splitpushing their second tower is EXACTLY what you want to do as Vlad. Midgame, unless the enemy team is just sitting on your doorstep, there's not a lot you can do, and vs a tryn you so disgustingly outpush him that you would pressure their entire team by staying top. - As a continuation of earlier post, Vlad at lvl 13-15 easily exerts most pressure by going top and pushing endlessly. It oftentimes completely guarantees obectives such as dragon, since they can't ignore you. Tryn is one of the only characters that Vlad can't just 1v1 in lane, so unless you face Tryn every game just push top pushpushpushpush - E STACKS DOOD CMON xD - As a side note, when pushing that second turret buy a lot of wards. Not just for your protection, you give your team control over everything in that part of the jungle. The mantra "wards win games" is often said, but it literally WINS GAMES in this case. - Sorc shoes are ok, but I prefer Ionian boots of Lucidity. Also Furor is better than homeguard for Vlad imo, that plus rylais gives Vlad that sticking power he needs to consistently stay on a target for another round of his combo. Either way don't purchase it so early in the game FINAL THOUGHTS My preferred Vlad build: Cloth/5 into revolver into armguard into either Zhonyas or Wraith spirit into Ionians into Rylais/Abyssals into who gives a fuck youre vlad Ideal combo is EVEYRTHING pool EVERYTHING zhonyas EVERYTHING. This gives a fuckton of both survivability and damage, and basically ensures that unless your team is one collective scrub, you'll win the fight. Also it oftentimes tends to make people want to babysit your Zhonya'd state, which is very powerful. Using it when you get caught makes it take so long to kill you that almost any team thats nearby could counterinitiate, and then they're like "ohshit we just clumped for vlad ult fukkkkkkk" When you got FB on that Tryn, I want to stress that the flexibility to take E there would have certainly won you the lane. Him losing that much XP in addition to you being able to force him under his turret would be immensly powerful. Also about this build, WotA sucks dont buy WotA Your E does tons of damage stacked, the reason you don't think it does damage is because when it's not stacked (as it wasn't for most of the game) it really doesn't do a lot Basically stack E gogogogogogo Tell me if you have any questions

Vlad does not have instant burst. He has a very strong, low-cooldown spell rotation, but no tools to stay in the midst of enemies for that rotation. The constant speed from ghost, rather than that one-time deal from flash, lets you have those rotations you need to deal damage consistently in a teamfight. It's the same principle as getting Furor instead of Homeguard. Homeguard insures you get one rotation off, but no follow-up. Furor, in combination with Rylais, ensures that you get all of your damage rotations off and bring Vlad to a much higher maximum potential.
