Part of not following the scene closely lately, I do not have any idea what balance whine in the comments is justified and what is not. But just from watching him compared to other zergs, the difference is obvious. Doing this for 7+ years in a row is just unbelievable. Absolutely stellar. I think Classic did really well. He tried and fought back and he dominated the other players. What more can you ask for. Classic vs Rogue: 2-1 Classic vs Serral: 0-3 Classic vs Showtime: 3-0 Classic vs Clem: 3-0 Classic vs Solar: 4-1 Classic vs Serral: 2-5 Classic clearly was the 2nd best player in this event and played great.

1- Larva management is way to good for zerg 2- Zerg doesn't even need a drone to scout haha 3- Queen are still way to well rounded for what they are made for (inject larva) 4- Lurkers and Roaches take little damage from storms (they are supposed to be biological) 5- Zerg Timming pushes are way to strong in general usually having 60+ supply .... read #1 again

Would have only been better if Maru and Clem got swapped in their bracket placement. TvT is the worst matchup atm. Best two players finished top 2, no bracket scamming. Hopefully not the last.

Doing this for 7+ years in a row is just unbelievable. It's not that unbelievable. The scene has only produced two or three top-level players in the time since Serral first won a world championship. Who is meant to knock him off his perch? It's actually incredibly mundane given the situation.

If Basilisk would have had someone get top8 in one other game, they'd probably be looking at, based on current standings, something like an extra $600k. Sheesh! Vincent Keymer recently joined them, but I do not know whether he participates in the Chess event at EWC.

Looking back most players had their “greatest player moments” for a couple months to maybe a year. I know people like to bring up that prior to Serral the Korean scene had more competition and more cut throat. I would disagree. There was kore Koreans competing but the skill level and game quality was quite low. Just take a look at games prior especially in WOL and HoTS. The so called godlier micro are basic micro in current high master / low GM at best The current skill level is just through the roof. It’s been a great year for classic. He made a lot of $$$

But just from watching him compared to other zergs, the difference is obvious. None of it is valid! The best players won. People perform better or worse at different times. Part of Serral's superpower is his mindset and consistently, and perhaps even the heart rate monitors this weekend were a hint. Clem, Maru and Reynor can all peak above Serral, but they have emotionally volatile moments. Reynor played amazing this weekend and him and Serral was as close to a tie as physically possible. Clem and Maru slept on the wrong side of the bed, and that's okay. That doesn't become a T balance problem.

But... come on dude. "mundande"?
