I figured Serral would just base trade if Classic crossed the map.

Did he not see Classic moving out, or was it just that his units weren't in position to collapse on the Protoss base?

Anyway, at least this game is competitive!

Going for the base trade can sometimes backfire if you get sandwiched by a recall and the other half of the protoss army coming back. I also think Serral didn't realize quite how big Classic's army was and thought he'd be able to hold if he morphed enough banes and then just win the game after cleaning up the army

Thanks for the expert view!

That game was a good example of something that frustrates me when watching Zerg.

Zerg just has so much bouncebackability compared to Protoss and Terran.

Serral should've been dead much sooner than he was.

Good play from him to stay in it though!

Time is so cyclical that Serral has just been channeling his inner 2012 Stephano

Yupp, 2 roach all ins in a row for Serral, I for one wasn't expecting this.

This is a great map-specific build from Serral.

I veto this map on the ladder for exactly this reason.

Zerg all-ins that abuse mineral walls are not games that I enjoy playing haha!

This is the scary thing about Serral, he knows he's the best at late game, but he will still mix in these timing all-ins here and there, just to throw opponent's gameplan off. You can't prepare against Serral - you just have to straight up outplay him, which no more than 3 players on the planet is capable of doing, occasionally, on their absolute best day.

Those 3 being Clem, Classic, and Reynor?

Given that there are around 16 pros of SC2, 3 is a very high number! you need to dial up your praises a notch

Classic did take the base toward him but I still think queen walk & drop timings are a little too strong. Basically the same thing as an SCV pull, exploiting Protoss at their most vulnerable.

If they do anything in the future they should drop queen attack range off creep.

I honestly hate the caster hype. It's such a SC2 thing. They need to be more brutally honest like in CS2 and LoL. I love it when Azael and Captain Flowers shits talk during the cast. Brings so much more hype.

BTW, I gotta say, I haven't watched in a while, but it's so nice to have Tasteless commenting, I missed those guys.

Hopefully Classic has a pocket build for this one to try to get another and maybe get to the next one.

I will never understand why Zerg was allowed to make Spores without an Evolution Chamber.

It's not a big deal, I just don't get it.

If it's any other player, that number would be 15. Outside of Serral, everyone is beatable by anyone else. So it's already high enough praise.

I'm worried for classic, you don't really want to be going straight for tempest vs this playstyle
say you were born into a jungle indian tribe where food was scarce...would you run around from teepee to teepee stealing meat scraps after a day lazying around doing nothing except warming urself by a fire that you didn't even make yourself? -rekrul

Meh I love Tasteless but I think State and Artosis would have been the best pairing for the finals.

Tasteless just has no idea very little idea what is going on.

State still at least casually actively plays and Artosis watches and casts weeklies (or at least did). I don't think Tasteless has seen a single game of sc2 outside of the ones that he casts.

The way Serral orchestrates his multi-pronged attacks and drops is art.
