This conversation is about how boring the current meta is. My point is there really is no other way to play late game against Zerg so comps like these are all we're ever going to see, at least not until additional changes are made.

The other side of that is also that it’s bloody hard to kill a Toss player if you commit to aggression as a Zerg, so they’re kind of both incentivised to do this. I’ve really no idea how to fix it. The meta was quite fun when herO innovated his Stalker/Oracle mass expo style for a bit, Zergs eventually got quite good at countering it. That aside it seems to bounce between Toss sucking in macro games and doing timings, or being good in macro games but it being airtoss-centric. And basically any heavy air meta absolutely sucks (I mean heavy as in the designation, not air-centric, so not Muta styles or phoenixes).

That's how it should be done of course, but EWC has made weird format decisions before. If so, Serral is also very likely to get ZvZ (unless Zoun beats Reynor.) Serral is heavily favored against Shin and Reynor atm, but Solar would probably be the scariest ro8 draw for him. Honestly, Solar is probably the biggest non-Clem threat to Serral.

I’m maybe missing something but they’re not up on the Liqui yet. I think a huge amount depends on if Maru just whipped out some battlemech for Reynor, and has it in his locker generally, or if it’s his kind of go-to TvZ style for this tournament. If it’s the latter, I mean Rogue gonna Rogue. He’s famously hard countered Maru with a bit of prep before, so I can see him doing it again. If Maru has other stuff in his locker that he feels confident in and can mix it up, be it throwing in an 8 tax, or reverting to his bio, mass expand into ghost defensive style, I’d maybe favour him. Clem wasn’t remotely terrible against Solar, but not quite on it. Given his general shape over the year though, I can’t see him bringing his B/A- game again. So I’d favour him over Rogue if we see that, although I think Rogue has consistently been jumping from level to level quite fast these last few months so I think his level is pretty high

Oh absolutely. If the complaint was about the meta from the other side of the spectrum I would be totally making this case as well. We are where we are in PvZ because of the way the two races are designed. It's no one's fault that the players gravitate towards this style, it's simply the natural way the match up progresses given the tools they players have.

I would assume there is some advantage for making it through groups through winners bracket, you would play someone first round from the other groups loser bracket, but i'm not sure. That's how it went last time I think.

The two Pylon wall behind the mineral line is pretty strong. Reynor's response was not optimal, the Drone pull was never going to do anything. EDIT: He's still going to win though. Zoun's follow-up was pretty bland.
