Now for an epic TvT hopefully ![]() Gumiho vs Byun is usually fun, since they both are so stylistic and are so different from one another. Then again, Cyclone meta has been polluting the match up in this tournament so it might be we get 3 games of that bullshit. Hopefully we don't, but it's lingering there like a fart.

Skillous probably wouldn't have even qualified for Kato without EU server being given so many slots. I don't think Astrea would have done much better. Astrea's strength is his late game in PvZ and Dark loves to just kill Protoss before they ever get a chance.

Defending while Macro to 80+ drones Recovering from bad positions and still ahead on workers Tech Switching are very easy to do. Scouting best race on the whole SC2 universe nothing surprise a zerg anymore. Best race at dealing chip damage overtime and trading cost effective. best spell casters vs anything lol i mean. if you learn how to do a proper build you can win with this race. Has there been a worse deliberate patch change ever made? Other changes have introduced worse metas, but often through the ingenuity of players gradually exploiting things that weren’t necessarily intended. This series has the potential to be an incredible clash of styles so hope it isn’t cyclone wars. I think they’d be considerably better if you could only lock on manually (in this form) but alas

And the best (worst) part about the cyclone change is that it has been totally and utterly uncalled for. Regardless of balance, there was absolutely no need to give Terran, out of all races, still another massable, versatile early game unit.

To get out of group stage you have to be good at prepping for your group stage opponents (unless you're Serral in a weak group stage, but even Maru lost to Cyan), but then the playoff bracket is basically all stamina and raw strength starting with Ro12 right after group stage and Ro8 to final in a single day. Aye it does test a bit of both elements, I do feel you could jig it around a bit though

Oh and you get a bye if you get 1st out of the group round, so if you say were given an easy group in the group stages you get an easy advance to the Ro8 which means you get to skip all of the stamina tests until the final day. And people wonder why I get so fucking annoyed when the groups are so lopsided.

When it's all about stamina, the most stable/defensive/reactive race provides big benefits. I.e. race A may be stronger than race B at 100% but weaker at 80% - and nobody plays at 100% at the end of a Bo5+Bo5+Bo7 marathon.
