I of course want Gumiho to win this series but I agree it'll make for a better day tomorrow if Solar wins

You can evade taxes though

I would never ever in my life insinuate such a thing. You're reading way too much into what I said. Get out of your own head bro. All I'm saying is that Serral just so happens to get weak groups (weak compared to his skill level) every year and has never had to play in a group of death therefore less stress and better performance later down in the tournament giving him a higher chance of winning. Its just good luck. It can't possibly be anything else. I am just simply wondering why. No need to project bro.
If you do believe "it's just good luck" then you wouldn't "wonder why" because you already know it's luck. Emphasizing "why" multiple times just feel like you are trying to imply there're other reason than luck. It's not projecting, it's a natural conclusion from your comment.
If this is an attempt at discrediting Serral's achievement in anyway, I have to say this is the most pointless argument I've seem yet.

HeroM is locked in 1st right? He can literally take tomorrow off. Serral will certainly be the same. Probably also Dark if he beats Maru.
Feels like a huge flaw of this schedule that some guys have an entire day to prep for the playoffs. Being 1st in your group already guarantees an extra $10K and one less playoff match, to add a day of prep is insane. Especially when you consider the variation in group difficulty. Like 2nd in Group D might easily be tougher than 1st in Group A
They just want more final day matches than just ro4+finals like in past years?

He can take half a day off. Of course he can throw against trigger (as in "not play too seriously"), especially since trigger is also done for, but the match itself is still worth 500 bucks. Personally wouldn't throw that out so easily. I also assume the guys already qualified for Top 8 have to do some media afterwards?

Serral doesnt play Byun until the last day, their match will probably detemine 1st place in group C. And last year IEM also had the same schedule Ro8 to Final in a day.

Plus surely if you are Heromarine, it's much less work to show up and play your normal level than actually "taking it easy". He probably won't bust out any tournament specific cheese though.

It's not actually that bad. You don't get an extra day of prep- you get an extra day of rest (and you have to play one series anyway which kind of still takes time/energy even if it's irrelevant). You won't know who your opponent is, or even possibly will be, until the end of the day just like everyone else. So you basically just get to relax more, but I think that's a fair reward for going 4-0 right off the bat

So you're that little bit more used to the pressure.

I don't think anyone is going to be taking it easy. 500 bucks is nice, but there's zero stress involved in that match, especially when winning his first playoff series nets him an extra $20K. He's not gonna pull out any of his best builds compared to the players fighting for their tournament life tomorrow.
As for prep, sure you don't know your ro8 opponent until tomorrow, but you still get time to rest, look over everyone else's games, and think about builds in different cases.
And all that rest is in addition to the extra guaranteed $10K, and not having to play the ro8. Going 4-0 is worth any of those rewards on their own, let alone all of them

I love Solar interviews. Can see the nerves on him a bit though.

Maru's loss to Cyan seems to have been a wakeup call to him. He's playing a lot better vs Showtime I think

If Reynor lose this, is he out?

You could probably say Showtime's style doesn't lend itself well to PvT in general. Protoss has so much potential to mess up and tilt terran in the early game that he doesn't really do.

Edit: If Reynor goes 0-2 against herO though his map score may be too bad to advance 2-3

Showtimes style just matches up so horrible vs maru rn.
