Stats has shown glimpses but he’s not quite at the shape to compete at this level yet after his return Yea Classic would have done better at this tournament. Stats isn't ready yet, especially on this patch with these maps. It doesn't suit his style at all. Add to it that he got put in the group of death. Just a bad draw for Stats. At this point I'm afraid it's not a question of time with Stats. He's been back for a year and he legitimately doesn't look any better now than he did a month or two into his return. Not what we would hope for from one of the all time great protoss players And yet somehow he keeps qualifying. How did he qualify, actually? Him being in this tournament rather than Classic is surprising indeed given how the year went. Stats had a fortuitous bracket, and also while his non-mirrors aren’t quite up to snuff he is still legitimately very good at PvP too.
But he beat like Lemon, Nightmare, coffee and sOs to qualify. Not his fault the bracket opened up that way for him, but compared to some others who didn’t make it it was an easy path.

Gabe in his IEM form right there

Hopefully the big dogs didn't bother practicing vs protoss

1 max. Whoever is coming out of group D has a shot at Ro8. I predict the winner of herO vs Showtime will advance and when paired with A (Scarlett / Gumi rigjht now) or C ( Byun / Astrea) has a shot

This does seem most plausible [thinking emoji]

He hasn't looked that great and he's facing herO and Dark today. Given what he showed yesterday, I'd put him at 10-15% to advance

Yeah I see him going 2:3 at max. That means any Protoss has "just" to get 3:2

Harstem and Lambo are amazing on the C stream, by far the most enjoyable for me. I quite like how they go more in depth about the gameplay and are not only describing what's on screen.
Such a shame that they get the least amount of game.

Not much hope for any protoss in group C to overcome Byun, but Showtime and herO have a decent chance at group D.

He's too clutch.

Check out the LP IEM Katowice/2024 3 people advance from each group

Oh yeah my bad. Sorry. Somehow thought only two players advance from each group straight to ro.8.

I've been totally out of the loop but who's this spirit guy and why he was kinda hyped?
Dude looks really mediocre so far, not great micro, bad build decisions, super passive...

Scarlett's about to die when this 3/3 kicks in.

Spirit has been a perenniel "very good" foreign terran player, but never a championship-contender or someone who looked like he could challenge the top dogs.
But I think starting at the beginning of 2023 he was playing very good, taking series off of Reynor, Clem e.g. and regularly beating heromarine. But he hasn't been playing at that level for like 6 months or so now

Dude looks really mediocre so far, not great micro, bad build decisions, super passive... Hes an EU Terran player and was taking some good games and even matches against top EU players like Reynor, HM and barely lost to Clem. Some might think he had a better year in 2023 than HM.

Def not a T1 or T2 terran or anything, but he's close to T2 and he can take series off T2 players like Creator That was def a bad game from him and Trigger though, it feels both didn't understand their position well

Also he was Serrals goto TvZ practise partner and was praised a lot for having very good macro and endgame control in TvZ. The caveat beeing to enter endgame somewhat even
