Qualifiers for '2021 GSL Season 2' will be held for two days on May. 31th(Mon) & June. 1st(Tue)
Details are as below.
■ Participation requirements
- Must be at least 12 years old
- Need to have a SC2 Battle.net account (cannot use your family's or friends' accounts)
- Masters/Grandmaster league players (Any Region)
■ Qualifiers information
- GSL Qualifiers application period: ~ May. 27th(THU) 23:59 [KST]
- You only need to apply once to participate in both days of the qualifiers
- GSL Qualifiers: May. 31th(Mon) & June. 1st(Tue) [KST]
- GSL Qualifiers location: online
- Only players who are in Korea are available to participate in GSL Qualifiers.
- Match schedule for each individual will be sent out via MMS & e-mail to each participant on May. 28th(Fri).
■ GSL Qualifiers match format
- Best of 3 / Double Elimination format
- Maps: Game1 Romanticide LE // Game2 Oxide LE // Game3 Lightshade LE
- The first place of each group on Day 1 qualfies directly to the Code S.
- Participants who do not qualify on Day 1(31th), can participate again on Day 2(1st)
- If you do not show up to the 1st day of the Qualifiers without notice, you will be automatically disqualified from the 2nd day
- Participants who acquire prior approval may only participate in the 2nd day of the Qualifiers

There are 3 Super Tournament this year along with the 3 Code S.

Double Elimination. 4 Players (top of each group) advance to Code S. Another 4 Players (2nd of each group) advance to Code A.

If I'm not mistaken Patience is involved in the two biggest surprises we've had in recent GSL qualifiers ; he lost to TOP when he made it to code S, and today to ForGG.

Creator AND Keen advance?? Hype! I love Creator's play, when he plays well it looks SO good. Like his group match vs Zest in the last season of last year, was a very close and exciting PvP. He was so close to advancing that time. Had to wait a half year, but it's excited to see him again! (Time passes wow).
Also cool to see Keen! So exciting to see new players (or returning players) make it back and keep things fresh.
It's cool to see Trust as well... has he been away from SC2? I don't remember him and his page seems to show no activity in many years. That's exciting to see another Protoss, and he beat Special 2-0 so he must be pretty good! Glad DRG made it as well!
For Group C, we're still waiting on Ryung vs Percival... I don't mind if either make it, but it would be hype to see Ryung back, as he was one of the best players during his peak!
As for Group D, I would have preferred to see Patience over Armani, but it's cool we got ForGG from Group D at least! He's been trying to get back into GSL for a while now it seems.
I miss when GSL Ro24 was group stages, as it gave players more chances to upset each other and stuff... but it's also true that weak players would have most trouble trying to prepare for 3 opponents. Do you guys think them making Ro24 just a single Bo5 match ultimately helps give weaker players a better chance to advance? It seems like having say Prince vs Rogue would really suck, whereas if everyone was in groups of 4, you would have chances to beat the other 2 players.
