That's the part of the game which looks unwinnable for T against top Z, massive bank allows for infinity "cheap" cracklings/banes runbys while T can't really retaliate on creep. very nice game regardless from both.

Clem had a 2-2 timing a bit later that looked like it could've made for a scary push. I think that was his last chance.

I feel a large part why late game T is so hard to play is because tech switching is too hard. If you go bio you're stuck to bio the whole game, if you decide to go mech you can't really transition to bio. Maybe having a tech reactor upgrade would help tech switching easier.
P and Z both have much faster tech switches to keep opponent on their toes.

Now, I'm not saying that Reynor isn't a good player (he's one of the best Zergs in the world) - but why the hell does a Zerg get to shut down a committed, unscouted attack like that with mineral-only tier 1 units? There's no downside to queens - make too many? Oh well, now I get extra creep spread

You are not winning with these parade pushes against Zerg in the late game... you do it in the mid game, even when behind, when Zerg didn't drone up to 80-90 and doesn't have tier 3 yet. You are kind of agreeing with me. You can't let Zerg drone up to 90 and get freely to tier 3. Doing damage early game with Hellions/Widow Mines/Drops/Pushes or All-in/Parade Timing in the mid game means you are trying to stop the Zerg before he gets there, have nothing to do with Terran being ahead or behind.

in HOTS no one gets to 80 drones


The old wisdom used to say that 70 Drones was optimal. This 90-100 drones stuff is new, very new.


80-85 drones was quite standart back then, 90-100 wasn't a thing.

I gotta admit I really dislike how much Wardi tries to be a "good guy" caster.

He just is incapable of saying one player played bad and that's why he lost, its always "the build was good to be this player is such a god that he came back from a position etc etc".

I don't think theres anything wrong with that and its only my opinion but it feels disengenuos sometimes.

Queens alone didn't defend the push. He had Banelings there as well, which cost Gas.

Not happening. Every race in Starcraft has 2 mineral only units. For Zerg that's the Queen and the Zergling.

Suggest whatever you want about Queens, but they will never ever cost gas, I can promise you that.

This works as long as you hit your injects perfectly. Otherwise you'll be running out of larva pretty soon.

7 queens only bought time for banes, they did not defend it on their own (or why do you think Reynor had to give up 3rd?).

What else is zerg supposed to build? There are no other viable options. Reynor did a very good job in repositioning his queens and sniping some medivacs.

If zerg doesn't go for the mass queen approach, they normally sacrifice eco, which is worse than playing on knife's edge. Queens are needed to buy time before the banes arrive.
first we make expand, then we defense it.

You can queue injects...

Queue only kicks in when you fail your injects for half an hour. Or 10 minutes, but fail them very hard.
