Well the Problem is, that they gave Special a Tier 2 seed ans DRG a Tier 3 Seed, so you can have Reynor together with 2 Koreans. If you Swap Special and DRG the Groups would have looked a hell lot more even. Now Group B is by far the hardest and Group C by far the easiest

Looking at Code S Results 2020 it s not.
Also when you compare him with the other Tier 2 Players (Stats, Trap and Inno) he seems quite misplaced there as well. I d rate both Clem and DRG higher than him. And he isn t that much better than the remaining Tier 3 Players Scarlett and Astrea, so he d fit there quite well. They both would be as succesfull dominating the LatAm Region as he is, if they swaped places.

The difference is Clem has shown a vast improvement this year. Given a bit more time, his TvT will soon catch up to his TvZ. He seems to be as strong as Reynor was pre-2020, and improving just as quickly.

It should certainly see improvement, no guarantees it gets to his TvZ level ever though (which I guess he’ll improve yet further)
TvZ plays to almost all of Clem’s biggest strengths right through the lategame, TvP mostly with some drop off and TvT not quite so much.
He reminds me a lot of ByuN, his micro is top notch and he gains a bigger edge vs the competition when there’s a lot of skirmishes and small groups of units to micro. Not quite as good when it goes to lategame max armies having that big engagement.
TY can’t quite micro/macro like Maru or Inno but he’s still a fearsome opponent in TvT where his tactical brain gets him the edges.
Given how Special struggled to win his regional final and bombs out of GSL while Clem comes of his best result ever, I think Clem should be a narrow favourite to win.
His TvT is clearly not his best matchup, but he looked very solid taking out Soul 2-0 in the group stage, and he should have the clear confidence lead going into this.
