Also, Inno's TvT has always been crazy good. I suppose there's always the teamkill factor, but Parting looked to be in much better form than Trap on Wednesday. Parting was a monster but it's been 5 years+ since he's been a true contender to win a tournament. This season is probably the first since he came back that he has a real shot to win. We've seen a lot of old legends come back and fall short of our expectations, that's why I'm doubtful. Though I will admit that of all the "old players" returning, Parting has looked the most promising (with Taeja maybe).

It kinda isn't with small units like banes. It's not like an immortal or something that's likely to get hit by a bunch of different attacks. Which is more likely, a bane getting shot twice by the same immortal or once by an immortal and once by a stalker? And you'd like to kill them with aoe which is mostly unaffected (surviving storm with 1 hp instead of 6 makes absolutely no difference). Of course -5hp changes some interactions but it's pretty much negligible

Honestly, it matters with all units regardless of size, but what makes the bane different is that it does AOE damage upon death, so them having 1hp compared to 6 makes no difference when their goal is to die when near the protoss army anyway. As long as they can still make it there through a storm, they're gonna be fine unless we're literally talking about a pure baneling army

Inno will take this, he just 4-0ed his last 2 groups, has an spectacular online record, and is on #Terranpatch, which historically benefits him far more than it benefits Maru. See:2015 mech and 2017.

The storm interaction specifically has nothing to do with banes being suicide units. Protoss units generally do high damage per attack so sentries are pretty much the only ones that care if they're attacking something with 1 or 6 hp. That would be the same case if it were a ling or a roach.

i know it's too early to say but a Maru vs INnoVation finals would have really good story. Basically battle for GOAT status. I feel like INnoVation usually has the upper hand against Maru in TvT and it would probably be a hard won but decisive victory (like 4-2) for INnoVation.

Also every GSL event for the last year has been Dark/Trap/Maru/other in the ro8, and by the looks of that's gonna happen again

I said nothing against Maru, unlike you guys love to do when Serral plays; I wanted to underline that Inno went 4-0 but I have read more but reading the LR one could think Maru topped the group as well.
