Crazy that the couch are laughing at swarm hosts actually moving across the map to attack. It seems so long ago but that is how they were always used just a year ago.

Funny, depending on uThermal, the main stream might be done faster with two series than the b-stream is with one. B-Stream still is at 2-0 for Clem (first series).
Not really close in the end. Tbh Showtime looks like a much better player right now. He also played well vs Serral. PartinG needs dark magic to win here.
That was so painful for Showtime. He looked like he was capable of a good run in this tournament. Not the first Toss in good shape to go down to the dark forces of pvp.
It's amazing how often uThermal falls to Clem in offline stuff considering he often wrecks him in online tournaments. His TvT level seems higher than most of the other Europeans but then doesn't deliver.
To explain further, this is from a movie that's basically a German 'Spaceballs' movie - a satire on sci-fi by a pretty well known German comedian/director. Was just kind of a throwback for me that caught me off-guard. :D

Yeah, the whole soundtrack is like one long throwback to 90s and early to mid-00s songs. Songs from our teenage years, or at least for me it is.
Even though they built a giant dome and put a tropical island inside of it to create the perfect environment for a TaeJa championship, it just doesn't seem to cut it.
Always great to see Mana doing well. He is such a smart player always suprises me with great in game calls and strategies. If he had top level mechanics he would be a contender imo.
We are currently working on issues with inno / his pc. He seemingly has lag or spikes. We cant see any neither can other pros, we swapped the pc and will swap another one. And we will change his seat worst case as well. Thats the reason we are a bit delayed to give some transparency. Thats all we can really do as there were no issues at all and seemingly others cant see any issues in it (pros too)
Yeah these pc-problems are making it hard to have all games on main stream.

There was the ling-lurker style which became popular in the beginning of the year which a couple of players had success with against Serral. Iirc that has been a standard build since.
But the range upgrade definitely makes it more powerful and we've seen lurkers quite a bit already.

Serral says so because he cannot conceive that Reynor is capable of mind tricking him relatively often. In any of case, when Terran becomes stronger Inno rises as well, not to mention Serral lost twice to Inno in 2019; he is right to be wary of the machine.

Well, soO is indeed a choker if we judge him from his conversion rate of finals into trophies, radically unlike Inno or Rogue.
soO being top 10 is a consensus reached in one environment religiously worshipping reaching a final in Code S as an otherwordly achievement. Thus said, he is one of the greatest Zerg in Sc2's history and he deserves a high rank, but #7(or something like that) was definitely too much; top 15 would be more appropriate I think.

That's a solid claim because he won every tournament he signed up for most of 2018. But he would have to sign up for a GSL and win it(in 2018, during his streak) then Maru doesn't get his 4 GSL streak and people would not say ''Can't be Bonjwa without GSL''.

I don't see how anyone who takes lore and exciting gameplay seriously could be against that.
Agree. I mean we already have pissmatic alignment (as been shown just now) in the game so why not actual farting ass holes?

idk if that is a reference to anything but i'm always up for a discussion on asses

Anal sex is great just take it slowly and don’t force the situation it will happen. And always use protection.
i'm sure all of that is true

i can see how that ends up happening. never been a fan of 69 tbh, bit too much of a logistical issue for me to really be enjoyable (maybe cause i'm a tall guy who likes short women)

Sexual life? Hmm I'm pretty sure it's all just a metaphor for TvZ harassment strategies. In this meta that really is all about sneaking the big one in round the back firing the big cannon.

I still dont know how Z beats lategame mech, provided the 2 players enter the late-game on roughly even footing. Like this game 4, Reynor got miles ahead in the midgame so he might take this, but Cure still can come back

Let's give it some time it's hardly been tested through and zerg surely has options that haven't been tried out.

I wasnt advocating for any change yet, just saying, based on what i've seen so far, im clueless how to approach ultra-late / split map scenarios as Zerg. BL+infestor went from neigh unbeatable to a non-option. Ultras are worse than trash vs mech, so i guess it's just pure hydra-viper or hydra-lurker-viper all day long?

lol, watch the replay man, at 12 min he was maxed and several K banked, up in bases. You dont get much more ahead in the midgame without straight up winning

tbh watching these lategame ZvTs i keep waiting for the BL/Infestor to roll out. like, it doesn't feel like we're really in lategame without them. not that i dislike this new state, i just need some time to adjust.
Reynor is showing the way ! The interaction is way funnier than before. My concern is you have to rely on getting full energy vipers who prolly are going to die against thors AA, it's tricky to have kamikaze support unit which are that costly...

My only hope is that if Thor's or skytoss(or anything else) becomes unbeatable for Zerg, Blizzard can give them realistic tools to counter them instead of buffing broodlords to beat all ground and buffing infestors to beat all air.

It's nice to see the kid finally delivering vs kor, I am pretty sure he was more frustrated than me by making disappointing performances outside the wcs.

i feel like he has no sense for social interaction. he asked Zanster a question, interrupted him almost immediately and just moved on without ever letting him finish. i feel like he's done similar things a lot in the casts i've seen of him. never consumed any of his content before so maybe he's not usually like that or maybe i just don't pick up on his sense of humour or smth idk

I thought that too. It's like he's trying too hard to be entertaining, not giving others room to do their thing.
right before they showed Sean's video i texted this to my friend who knows absolutely nothing about E-Sports, much less Starcraft (except that i watch it) and it made me think how blessed we are to have this:
"after the professional starcraft 2 season ends for the year, there's one giant tournament a German guy puts on that's more like a party than anything. still a big tournament with big prize money and the best players in the world, but really it's like a huge 4 day party where the people involved also play and commentate Starcraft. they put on a ton of random content (fun little bets and games that have nothing to do with starcraft, stuff like that) and also they get progamers to commentate each other's matches. so much fun every time. they're in some giant indoor waterpark thing this year. this has been a nice saturday in :D also i always enjoy how international the sc2 community is, the multitude of accents and stuff is really cool."

I have been thinking the same thing. Have been telling my partner and flatmate about HSC and been looking forward to it all week. At times I don't understand why anyone would do anything other than watching Starcraft
Honestly I felt like Trap could have killed Clem when he had the prism in the main and walked up the ramp between natural/third. Bit sloppy with the zealots maybe but I don't think he had to turn around and leave tbh.

You missed the mine drop that wiped out the natural mineral line. Then Trap's counter harass that brought him back in the game. And then Clem's death push that Trap didn't have enough units for.
I feel like Clem is going to switch races to protoss one of these days, the type of shenanigans he likes doesnt work for terran the way they do for the race of the "big book of bullshit"
On November 24 2019 05:12 sneakyfox wrote: BOSS TOSS!
My favourite protoss of all time, very easily.
Not to speak of the stuff he's done besides playing. That time when he live coached Rifkin playing protoss at some event in NA... was so funny I almost puked.

That was a terrible defense angle for Special. All the bio on the high ground getting clumped up and shot at by the colossi. And the early game had gone so well for him.
I can't believe Mana keeps getting lucky with this build. If one of those scans hits his army, I doubt it would've happened like that. He cuts so many probes to make this push work and I feel like in both this game and vs Taeja, it probably shouldn't have worked.
Unbelievable stuff. I thought the upgrade advantage would decide things at several different occasions. It's pretty rare to see the Protoss come out ahead of the very low eco. scrappy situations against Terran.
Even though Special is down 2-0, I still think he can win this just due to him being much more solid, but he really needs to realise that Mana makes ridiculous probe cuts and adjust accordingly.
Mana's TvP is like the herO of Europe, nothing he does should work but it often does.

Sure but he said it was the first really great game of the tournament. That was kinda odd to say especially after the Reynor-Cure series. Scrappy games are certainly popular but the games that win "best game" awards usually require a high level of skill shown, not just excitement.

Unlike the rest of the year that was entirely due to special playing badly than balance issues. Dunno what happened to special. He looked way better yesterday.

Yeah I agree it wasn’t the first one to be considered by any means. Chances are the best game occurs off the main stream anyway lol. But who knows if it would be recognized if that were true
Anyway, while playing mana why would special play aggressive himself? Seems like he did no scouting, and very weird and very risky early pushes that left himself exposed every time

I didnt mean otherwise, that being said I should've learned to not put my hopes in foreign terrans after 10 years of watching this game but here I am lol.
still don't know who he is, i was kinda hoping it would be a progamer (my apologies if he is and i just don't know him)
sound's a bit 1994 and rough around the edges, but enjoyable enough considering he specifically made topical parody songs, and kudos for having the balls to perform live in front of such a big crowd

entertainment is by definition "entertaining"
And what is or isn't entertaining is by definition subjective
Interesting choice from Cure to have only one ebay even though he's had such a good economy in the game. Guess it's about the early double starport/fusion core

Mana done amazingly in this tournament. Is he atm the "oldest" pro playing actively? That game against naama in dreamhack winter 2011 or so, when Naama beat the first korean in international tournament, if I recall it was OGS Top?, and the finals was Naama against Mana and casters got confused about the names and it was hilarious to listen at. Go Mana though.
Am I the only one that kinda hate forced draw because of floating buildings? I mean it's just because of the map layout. At the end of the day PartinG won that game, it's just a draw because the map creator allowed it to be.

Hard to say whether Parting would have won the game if Cure's buildings weren't able to fly. I doubt Cure would have played as aggressively if his buildings couldn't fly. So basetrades would be played completely different and we don't know what the result would have been.

It is so so rare that it happens so I just think it is great fun.
Lmao. Protoss has done really well on Disco Bloodbath this tournament, but before this tournament it was stats-wise the fourth best TvP map for terran in all of LotV, so I'm not sure there's much debate about whether it's good for terran or not.

TLO is still there too
Oh damn thats right, TLO´s been so long I kinda awknowledge him as something else. Dario been there forever and maybe not the best but still have tremendous respesct towards him. Atleast as much as for mana, if not even more.
So, the top 8 are 2 Zerg, 2 Terran and 3 Protoss, pretty evenly spread across the bracket, 3 Europeans and 5 Koreans, with Serral and Reynor taking out Koreans in the upper bracket.
Zest has the best score so far and should actually be the favourite to win.
